Marvel, Star Wars or Lord of the Rings, Which Line is for you?

This poll is a bit late in the day. I believe what brought most of us here were the Sideshow Weta LOTR, since that is what launched Sideshow into the stratosphere. Though my alliance has been with LOTR, I must admit that I find myself clicking in the SW and Marvel arenas. Realistically, the SW stuff does nothing for me though, so maybe at best, their 12" line will suffice. LOTR seems to be on the wane with SS apparently taking their time between announcements and release (at least my pocketbook can sigh a bit better). Since I'm knee-deep with SS/W LOTR already, I've become much more picky with which new LOTR I buy (GG included).

That leaves Marvel. . . Captain America PF cracked open a door that I can't ignore. White Queen Comiquette was a slam-dunk (how can you go wrong with her!!). If SS releases a PF Thor soon, then that should cap my Marvel needs. If someone would trade me their Green Hulk for my extra Cap EX PF, then it'll be harder to get out of this drunken Marvel stupor that crept up on me.

It's a close race between Star Wars and Marvel, but LotR has gained some ground. Let's get some more votes people!

Star Wars is my pride and joy. When Sideshow asked us a few years ago what our 'dream line' would be, mine was Star Wars. Well, what do you know, it came true. While the line has its ups and downs, it is still my favorite Sideshow line currently (although the Dead is up there). I NEVER would have imagined owning a 1:6 Jabba. That was just WOW! I am still a LotR 12" figure completist so far and that is a great line as well. I've also got all of the Dead. Fortunately/unforunately both those lines have very few releases a year whereas Star Wars has many. So it all balances out in the end.

I just hope Star Wars doesn't kill other "big" lines like the Modern Horror figures. Its been a full year since the last Jason figure annoucement. And there are really only 2 versons left to do. It would be a real shame to come so far and not make the last two. So if Sideshow has to cut back on SW for other lines to survive. so be it. I'll most likely be buying those other lines anyway so Sideshow gets my money either way. /

I would certainly have a lot less Marvel pieces if there were more LotR. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Jen and Darth Loki also said that the slowness of the LotR line contributed to their heavy shift to Marvel collecting.

I just got a Corporal Hicks and I'll be sending it to Darkartist (Josh) for customization, his Hicks is stunning, but yours isn't too shabby either Les!

I can't wait for ANH figures to start rolling in (I ordered Leia)!

Not a single Marvel yet--- I haven't taken a drink of the Kool-Aid yet. Although I said I'd never buy a PF and since making that statement I've gotten two (Exc. Leia and Grievous--non Exc ). My Marvel Legends from Toybiz were packed away a couple of weeks ago during the last "purge"... considering E-bay.

Now--when you say young collector are you referring to my age? as I am a grizzled 30+ year old who remembers the taste of popcorn from watching ANH 30 years ago in the theatre or are you referring to the time I've spent collecting? as my collection goes back to '77--- I've only recently re-energized it(primarily through TPM and the LOTR trilogy)... as far as SS I bought my first Bond (Connery & Brosnan in tux about three years ago ???) but it wasn't until I stumbled upon this den of inequity that I was pulled deeper into the PF world--- I think I've spent over one thousand $$$$$ since joining this board in the new year and I've started customizing....
