I also don't think people have much of problem with him teaming up with IM but how essential Iron Man is now to Spider-Man's character and his villains.

No problem with a team up, I wish it wasn't Stark. Totally expect Marvel / Downey to overuse / misuse Stark in the movie taking away from building the kid playing Spidey and the overall experience.

My point is that spiderman teaming up is not unheard of. It is not a radical thing to do. Black cat used to show up a lot in the cartoon.

He has more comics and cartoon episodes on his own thats true,
But team ups are not that rare, im used to see spiderman team up so i dont feel weird about this trailer. It looks normal to me to see spidey team up with iron man. Looks just like the cartoon.

I would prefer daredevil to show up on the spidey movie or madame web would be nicer than tony stark but tony stark is ok. It fits.

The shh boards are chaos right now. I just find it funny that everyone wanted this but now they hate it. All cause stark takes away the suit. I mean I do understand the frustration in that but I'm sure it factors into peter's growth.

It's hard to keep track what and why everyone hates everything. I mean, people resent nostalgia on message boards devoted to collecting expensive toys based on old garbage.

Because introductions like this don't serve the story they only mean to connect the movies to one another to show us that this is all one world. All these useless scenes and cameos are nothing more then advertisements for future projects . The movies are not the main focus establishing the cinematic universe is. Is it not enough to see them in a team up movie but no Avengers made a billion so every movie as to be like that . Give them more of what they want story be dammed.

I think it's kind of brilliant to have Tony challenge Peter with earning the suit back.

This way the new Spiderman doesn't get a free ride into becoming a superhero and we don't have to sit through another Spiderman origin movie.

I wasn't too impressed with the trailer, to be honest.
And isn't Peter supposed to be a bit of a genius himself? It takes a bit of his own growth and achievements away if he didn't build his own high-tech suit. I know it's a bit of a stretch for a high school kid, but it's how it's always been.
And I don't even hate Stark...

He was already helping people when Tony came to him in civil War so they are skipping the whole origin any way .

I think people have just gotten accustomed to seeing these characters in the movies had this been a iron man movie with an iron man centered villain it would look highly awkward having spiderman face of against him. The point of the team up movie is to make it a special event and to show that this villian they are up against is indeed something none of them can face alone

Agreed. I think this takes away from peters struggles as a hero and makes him like some type of sidekick rather than a hero who works alone and manages with what he has.

I personally would have preferred to see the film without Tony Stark involved, but I'm not going to scream into a pillow about it just because he is. Stark is going to be in the film. Whining about it here isn't going to change that, LOL.

*The people on this thread championing Spidey as Tony's ***** must have HATED The Raimi films where he made his own bones.

But that's the nature of today's fandom. Ultron is turned into a jokester imbecile, Mandarin into a moronic stage actor and now Spider-Man into a poor man's Iron Man ---> and the fandom loves it & eats it all up because of that Marvel Studios banner.

I hated IM3 too.... Dead last for me in the MCU. Well, maybe tied with The Hulk.....

I get the hate for Stark in Spidey, but it does make sense. I just hope there are reasons explained onscreen and he isn't just shoe horned in by Marvel to show the connection and to appease Sony with Higher ticket sales....

Also those complaining about Cap. I think that's kinda cool. He's not actually in the movie. It's a PSA (Public Service Announcement)for kids in public schools. Doesn't every one here remember watching those stupid videos all through school?? And obviously that's why he's in his original Avengers outfit, because it's from years ago.... SO probably every high school in the US, especially NYC is forced to watch it.
