Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

I'm just dreading the inevitable origin story they'll have to go thru. Hopefully they Incredible Hulk it and don't make us sit through a whole movie. If someone doesn't know how Spider-Man became Spider-Man, let the rest of the audience tell them because they all know it and have probably see it done twice already :lol I'm hoping he shows up in Civil War first so that origin telling can be kept at a minimum. Introduce Peter as Spider-Man give a brief synopsis of his origin in that moment on stage and it takes care of that problem in-story.

New Spider-Man Confirmed As Peter Parker In High School

When Spider-Man is introduced in Captain America: Civil War, he will be Peter Parker -- and Peter Parker will be in high school, Marvel's Kevin Feige confirmed during the press tour for Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The executive told Collider, “In terms of the age of an actor we’ll eventually to cast, I don’t know. In terms of the age of what we believe Peter Parker is, I’d say 15-16 is right.”

Feige also added, "We want to play with Spider-Man in the high school years because frankly there’ve been five Spider-Man films and the amazing thing about it is, even though there’ve been five Spider-Man films, there are so many things from the comics that haven’t been done yet. Not just characters or villains or supporting characters, but sides to his character. The most obvious being the ‘young, doesn’t quite fit in’ kid before his powers, and then the fella that puts on a mask and swings around and fights bad guys and doesn’t shut up, which is something we want to play with and we’re excited about."

Which was done in Spider-Man 1

and then the fella that puts on a mask and swings around and fights bad guys and doesn’t shut up."

Was done in all of them, with the not shutting up part done in ASM1 & ASM2

If they want to actually do stuff that hasn't been explored they should included more of his supporting characters and give them a bigger role rather than just cameos

You just hate everything Marvel Studios

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Here is the thing. All adaptations had Pete in high school. Where Marvel Studios could be different is if they keep him there. The other sets moved him out quickly but if they kept him there then they could really create a new dynamic.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

I'm more thinking he'd better have something that LOOKS homemade since he is 15 than any of the other films.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Logical. I'm just pissed off we won't see that perfect comic representation in a decent movie.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

I liked the Sam Raimi SM1 and SM2 films, but I feel that those films didn't have the fast talking, witty Spiderman that Kevin Feige is talking about. His high school years were rushed...I mean, 30 minutes into the film he graduates from high school and he's working in New York. I don't blame them, Tobey was too old to play a High School kid so it made sense for him to graduate.

I'm not a big fan of the ASM films, but there are things that I like about the first one. Still, I wouldn't say that's the best interpretation of those characters, so maybe the new Marvel Spidey will combine all the things that the Raimi films and the ASM films got right.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Great more teenage angst, just what we need. Good lord move on man.

I wonder if they'll show him being awkward.
I wonder if they'll show him with girl problems.
I wonder if his aunt will find him acting peculiar.
I wonder if they'll show him sneaking around with everyone else left in the dark.
I wonder if they'll show him making a costume.
I wonder if we'll see him trying to balance his HS life with his new superhero one.
I wonder if future Villains will have small cameos.
I wonder.....

Bad idea. It's been done and he needs to be all grown up as Spider-MAN!< Struggling to pay rent etc. etc. etc. Casual audience members really are gonna be like wtf. Even if they come at it from a different perspective it's been DONE.

Sad, i really wanted to see a Spider-MAN movie.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Just glad to hear it's Peter under the mask. No interest in seeing a Spidey movie that doesn't have Peter in it.

But SpiderMAN is an awkward teenage boy who has everyday problems, relationship issues, and trouble balancing his life with his alter-ego Spiderman :lol That's his whole gimmick :dunno I think they will skip his origin this time and show him as Spiderman since people already know the story.

Do you mean like in SM 1, SM2, and SM3? :lol We have seen the adult Spidey more than the teenage version. I wouldn't mind seeing an old Spiderman in his 50's. I've never seen that before...not even in the comics.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Yeah, but how many times do we need to see it? There's a whole plethora of subject matter in the comics of him doing things as a MAN. I say focus on that!

God i'd almost take the clone scenario at this point.

Sad, i really wanted to see a Spider-MAN movie.

We got 2 movies with him struggling to pay rent, and 3 movies juggling his job and responsibilities. The Raimi trilogy covered that, and did a good job at it. An older Spider-Man has the same problems as a younger Spider-Man, most of his problems focus on his love life though, no real difference there. This is why people were asking for Miles because we've already seen a younger and older Spider-Man (not that I wanted them to start with Miles). Be grateful Sony/Marvel decided to go back to Peter and try and give the fans a perfect representation of the character. Starting young is the smartest movie in the long run considering this won't be a trilogy. Whoever they get to play Spidey next will probably play him for more than a decade.

As long as they get a good actor, and the movie is good, I'm not going to complain.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

It was only briefly touched upon. How many times have we seen him working with JJ and the bugle? (NOT ENOUGH) The HS angle is too close to origin.

Make him a teacher or something.
