Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

I'd like to see some parts of Clon Saga being incorporated. Scarlet Spider FTW! :rock

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

I remember seeing the Toy Biz 7" Spider-HULK figure at a local supermarket about 8 years ago - only time I did.

Shoulda bought it. :gah:

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Agreed. Bring Miles in after we've seen Parker incorporated into the MCU.

That's the thing, people who are on this bandwagon forget how instrumental Peter Parker was to Miles. Even the kids cartoon on Disney went into the whole "I could have helped him but I was afraid and he died and then I knew I had a great responsibility on my hands" which was a shock but nice to see a tip of the hat that this wasn't just another Spider-Man but an evolution within this universe.

The Marvel film U won't really be able to recreate that but they should be able to creatively play around and get Miles in.

I doubt they even know or understand and yes, Marvel can creatively play around and get Miles in the MCU.

Why should they?
Is there any reasonable demand for Morales to be in films outside of having black Spider-man?
It worries me a lot because there's waaaay too much talk about the character who started only 3,5 years ago.

Short answer, no there's no plus sides to have Miles over Peter other than his ethnicity.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

It's also hilarious that people who want miles keep saying Peter Parker has been in films for 5 movies his time is done. So? Bruce Wayne has been in more films then Peter. People would be up in arms if they choose that horrid blake character to face superman instead of Bruce . Peter Parker is an icon for a reason. You can't just easily replace him with a character that is 5 yrs old. If all you see when you look at spiderman is the color of his skin then your the problem not the fans.

The character is new, easier to **** with and have no one really complain and his younger age would allow to really hit the younger age range with merchandising. I don't think it should happen but there are reasons why it could be a good business move, not to mention the ethnicity angle alone would create so much free publicity and hype it'd guarantee sales of tickets.

Some more rumors:

According to Da7e from Latino Review, you can add 17-year-old English actor Asa Butterfield to list of actors that Marvel could be considering for the MCU role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Butterfield is best known for starring in Gavin Hood's sci-fi box office disappointment Ender's Game (I liked it!).

Asa was recently asked on Reddit if he would have interest in the part. To which Asa replied, “I’M SO DOWN!”

Peter?

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

__

Butterfield would've been great.
He's as tall and lean as Garfield, he's cute looking, has naturally weird charm and some range.
I mean COME ON, he's perfect for Peter Parker (minus the accent)!

Could be an awesome Spider-man if done by the competent director.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Butterfield is a great actor, done so much and liked his portrayal in Ender's Game.
