Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

I'll just sit back and wait to see more. I have no idea who any of them are. Said that about Garfield and he was awesome, so fingers crossed, this comes out the same way.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

AG talked smack about his 2 movies though, he did a Shia Suicide. :lol

Big no no in Hollywood.

there was more to it, he was supposed to show up for some big dinner with the higher ups and he never did, there was also some problems between him and Amy Pascal (the sony leaks had some messages about that)
talking bad about the movies happened after all of that

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Another reason I respect Garf.

We all know the studio meddled and ****ed those movies up, it's obvious from the trailers. Glad he had the balls to say it.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Yea that Avi guy screwed him self over. Just last yr he said "Joining the avengers will be a last resort"...... Well damn you went from A to Z real quickly before any of your plans even lifted off the ground.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

What people forget about Andrew Garfield is that he was a big Spider-Man fan when he got the role. Even before ASM 1 he said on The Daily Show that he didn't want to be the one who "****ed up Spider-Man" and that he would be harsh on himself if it didn't turn out. I'm not surprised that he spoke out about the films.

As for Charlie Cox, the minute I heard, I thought it was perfect casting. I didn't know him from anything but Boardwalk Empire but his turn in that was awesome.

It'll be interesting to see who gets the nod here but I'm shocked that both Lerman and O' Brien aren't on that list given the positive reaction to their possible casting.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

While I definitely respect Garfield for having the balls to speak out (a very rare thing for young actors), I gotta say that I never bought him in the Peter Parker role.

Peter Parker was designed as a reader insert character for comic book fans. He was nerdy, poorly dressed, not athletic. The only thing he had going for him before he got super-powers was intelligence and a sense of humor.
Instead we got Garfield; the handsome, well put together, sociable, athletic, and reasonably popular Peter. Even without powers life seemed pretty good for this guy. Criticize Tobey McGuire all you want, but at least he was believable as a nerdy loser.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Yea he didnt play a very convincing peter and I didnt like gwen that much either I guess I saw her as more ofa nerdy quiet type to like in SSM.

Is Billy Unger Also A SPIDER-MAN Contender For Marvel?

In The Wrap's original report on the shortlist to play Spider-Man in Marvel's Captain America: Civil War, they noted that there were other younger actors also in the running besides Nat Wolff, Asa Butterfield, Tom Holland, Timothee Chalamet and Liam James. Given Marvel's history (Captain America, Star-Lord, etc.) of having an extensive shortlist during casting and then ultimately picking someone NOT on that list, The Wrap wisely gave themselves some wiggle room.

Could the same thing play out with Spider-Man? Fans have noticed that Billy Unger (19), star of Disney XD's Lab Rats, attended the Avengers: Age of Ultron and inexplicably used the hashtag #SpiderMan. This was days before The Wrap broke their story.

Marvel also went out of their way to highlight Unger's appearance at the premiere.

It's not entirely out of the realm of possibility that Unger is one of the "among others" mentioned in The Wrap's story. The question then becomes, is Unger a serious contender? Spider-Man is set to make his debut in Captain America: Civil War and choose sides between Chris Evans' Captain America and Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man. Set construction is already underway and filming is expected to begin VERY SOON.

We'll reportedly have our new Spider-Man revealed to the world in the next 2-3 weeks so we'll find out about Unger shortly.

Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6, 2016.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Dylan O'Brien for Peter Parker... I can't believe that was even a thought.
Guess Mark Wahlberg would've been an awesome choice too, afterall he was incredible in "The Happening".
