Not sure I get how Mysterio is a C- or D-list villain, while freakin' Vulture is somehow an A-lister worthy of being Spidey's greatest foe. :lol

One has a fish-bowl, the other has...wings... Not sure I get that either. I mean, they still had Carnage, Morbius, Lizard and the like, but nah, Vulture should be the A-Lister, with Mysterio as a cameo... We... Even still, I would've loved to have seen Spider-Man 4.

That's what I was saying. :lol

I don't think they were saying he was an A-list villain. I saw it more as him being one of the more useless, but still well known villain. Compared to like Shocker and Mysterio like they mentioned.

Far more people like Mysterio than Vulture. If you look at Marvel's online "games", the community often asks for Mysterio to be included. He was the antagonist of Shattered Dimensions as well. Vulture is right there with Shocker, Mysterio is a bit above them. He's no Venom, but he's no Vulture.

Heck, I'd take Shocker over Vulture.

Eh, on his own he ain't that interesting. But I'd surely take a Sinister Six, where the 5 of them are the Superior Foes, and the 6th person is the real mastermind. That way, you have both a legit villain, and a couple of costumed guys and gals who are just colourful cronies.

I hope now that Spidey is at MCU they'd at least consider Spot for the antagonist.
So much possibilities for awesome mind**** action scenes!

Well Mysterio has possibly the goofiest supervillain costume of all time.
No flight power . . . a fishbowl for head . . . smoke machines and boot springs.

Whereas the Vulture was one of Spidey's very first foes:

A classic youth vs. old age match-up.

I'd prefer The Chameleon, though.
Having him call in Kraven would be icing on the cake . . .

And I love all those old characters. But if we're going to call a guy goofy for being an illusionist with a fishbowl head, then I don't think we should turn around and conceptualize a geriatric bird man as Spidey's gravest threat.

I like Mysterio and Chameleon, but I could see why Spider-Man 4 would have emphasis on Vulture and Blackcat.

Honestly, those storyboards and that premise seems really cool to me. Would it have made Mysterio and the like look like Nolan Scarecrow level *******? Sure. But it would be fun to see in the beginning, especially in opening action sequences. I mean, isn't that what we just saw with Crossbones? I would have liked more him, but what was there wasn't terrible.

They would have made Vulture creepy and cool I'm sure. That's probably why they intended to make the villains in the opening weak and "villain of the week" types. To make Vulture a legitimate threat. Look at what Raimi and Co. did with Doc Ock. They took a fat, bowl cut looking, mad scientist dude and gave him some dimension. Their Doc Ock is one of my favorite comic book villains. No reason Vulture wouldn't have turned out well.

Doesn't mean a damn thing anymore though. Hard to believe that stuff is almost a decade old now. I remember being on here when Spider-Man 4, Raimi and Maguire were announced, then a couple of weeks later it got dropped.

Rumlow was a side character in TWS and had kick ass action scenes in both films.
That's absolutely NOT the same as showin' fat Bruce Campbell in Mysterio suit for several seconds.

Technically Mysterio would have been Spider-Man 1, 2 and 3 making Peter Parker's life a living hell!

Seeing Bruce Campbell under that dome would have been fun.

Huh? In SM1 he gave Peter his superhero name.
That cameo was pretty cool, but the other two were stupid and pointless.
I'd hate another one, especially if it'd be a waste of a cool villain for cheap laughs.

It was a joke implying that all three Bruce cameos were of the same guy. The a-hole wrestler announcer, the a-hole theater usher and the a-hole restaurant server.

I know, but it's a stupid joke about stupid cameos. :lol
It'd be worse than some "IN YOUR FACE" Stan Lee cameos.
Speakin' of which, I'm more interested in what cameo Stan could make in SM4.
