Apparently not - he missed the entire movie. :lol

Which is precisely why 'this will not happen to me'.

I'm still impressed by Ragnarok's ability to balance (successfully IMO) light hearted comedy with a super downer of a plot. I find it pretty compelling that the MCU's biggest comedy is also one of the greatest tragedies. And I just like the overall aesthetic and pace. Looking forward to revisiting the expanded picture this weekend on D+.

Somebody enjoyed Captain Marvel? I wanted my money back after seeing it in the theater. I have watched every MCU Infinity Saga movie at least twice with that as an exception. I can't put myself through all the boredom again.
I actually liked the plot for the most part. Bit the directing was terrible and Larson's performance matched The Eternals mind-numb acting. Captain Marvel might be a synthetic. Don't tell Zurdo.

I was gonna ask about the action in Eternals. Like is it enjoyable just for the spectacle.

And yes Captain Marvel's greatest sin was that it was just so average and boring.

It reminded me of Ang Lee Hulk with the gamma dogs or whatever they were, just bigger enemies. I wasn't intrigued by any of it with the deviants, then they all fought Ikaris at the end, which felt meh to me as well. A real missed opportunity was the deviants and their leader. I felt like the story was on to something with him realizing he was a pawn like the Eternals were, but the Eternals were still trying to eradicate them. Guess that was kinda like the Skrulls and Kree in Captain Marvel.

Or is he? :D

OK, this is not in any way directed at The Buffinator.... but I'm old, what can I say. Contrary to current belief, you do learn things over time, there's truth in stereotypes, and people can exist based on educated assumptions -- called learning -- you don't have to torture yourself to "form your own opinion".

Going to a bad movie again and again and hoping for it to be good is the definition of insanity, isn't it?

I've gotten pretty good at smelling a bad movie miles away now, as have many here. Sure, Eternals may not be "as bad" as many of us are making it out to be. But its fun to shame. Truthfully, it is, that's why so many people do it. So don't shame me for liking to shame you.

:)
(smiley face makes the hurt go away)
Was thinking on this and I just think from my perspective, I have consumed so much media, there isn't a whole lot anymore that really jumps out and screams different. Franchises get milked so hard that they lose their artistic integrity and what they meant to say in the first place. Denis Villy is an excellent director, but he is still treading over material that has been done before. That's why I hope Spider-Man NWH and DS MoM goes really nuts with the material.

Say it ain't so!! :monkey2

( kidding :lol)

:rotfl:lol

Some of the speedster stuff looked cool and I have always loved beam weapons definitely a JL vibe from the group.

Now that I got that out of the way where is my D+ Star Wars everything else comes second!

I can see why some would consider it subpar or lackluster, though for me I love it for mostly personal reasons.
I hear you. The First Avenger is one of my favorite films while most consider it to be mediocre at best.

As for Captain Marvel my issues weren't even Brie, I think she did fine, it was the directing that I found so lackluster.

Oh wow you actually saw this, lol. Well there you go Buffinator now you have someone to chat with about all the interesting aspects of the story. ;)

I haven't tried to sort through the worst of the 24 MCU movies (24 right?)...

Eternals is the 26th.

Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 2
Thor
Captain America: The First Avenger
Avengers
Iron Man 3
Thor: The Dark World
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Guardians of the Galaxy
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Ant-Man
Captain America: Civil War
Doctor Strange
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Thor: Ragnarok
Black Panther
Avengers: Infinity War
Ant-Man and the Wasp
Captain Marvel
Avengers: Endgame
Spider-Man: Far From Home
Black Widow
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
Eternals

Now reorganize them from best to worst. ;)

That's always a challenge.
I have a top tier and a bottom tier, and then there's the middle. The films remain in the tiers, but they move around within them (especially the middle ones) ... often depending on what I feel like watching at any given moment.

Eternals is the 26th.

Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 2
Thor
Captain America: The First Avenger
Avengers
Iron Man 3
Thor: The Dark World
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Guardians of the Galaxy
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Ant-Man
Captain America: Civil War
Doctor Strange
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Thor: Ragnarok
Black Panther
Avengers: Infinity War
Ant-Man and the Wasp
Captain Marvel
Avengers: Endgame
Spider-Man: Far From Home
Black Widow
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
Eternals

I'm keeping only the good ones from your list of the Infinity Stone 22-story saga

Iron Man
Thor
Captain America: The First Avenger
Avengers
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Guardians of the Galaxy
Ant-Man
Doctor Strange
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Avengers: Infinity War
Avengers: Endgame

11 out of 22 -- Those are the ones the I enjoyed, some, like IW, much more than others, like Thor (I'm already rethinking Thor being up there).

It's funny, but if you only saw these 11, I don't think you'd lose any story elements other than where did Scarlet Witch and Ultron come from (like it matters).

The others fall into "lost interest" category, which covers meh to ugh!

I hear you. The First Avenger is one of my favorite films while most consider it to be mediocre at best.
I really do like the First Cap story. It's old school but solid. Fun villain. Great set-pieces. Great climax. It's a better story overall than the first Iron Man.
