We definitely don't need some musclebound meat head who can't act, but we don't need a Kewpie doll Hollywood idol to play Thor, either. There are plenty of good unknown or less famous actors who could play the part well. They should at least give 'em a shot. If Pitt ends up playing the God of Thunder, I may just have to pass.

Well in the new Thor comic Loki is a woman so maybe Angelina could play that part and we could get a Gigli effect.:D

Casting is huge--- Pitt could make it work... but I think (as stated earlier at nauseum) the media spotlight and tabloid reporting has created too much baggage attached to him that might disturb that oh so important willing suspension of disbelief.

RDJ WAS Tony Stark... Johnny Depp IS Captain Jack... Brad Pitt IS on the cover of every major rag and at the beginning of every "entertainment news" show-- that's going to start to bleed into your work. Case in point Tom Cruise and his plummeting movie career-- straight off the couch (maybe a resurgence with Tropic Thunder-- we'll have to see).

How about the big guy from HBO's Rome?

He's (Ray Stevenson) the Punisher...

I guess that would be weird for him to play 2 different comic characters. Whats the word on this Punisher film, will we actually get a half decent film?

Based on his horrible acting in Troy, I'd say he can't deliver on a role as manly as Thor needs to be. In my opinion he's only good in two roles, serious dramas and quirky.

I actually thought he was quite good in the Troy DC.

How about this guy? Jason Lewis from Sex and the City. Personally, Thor is my very favorite character and Jason looks about as close as any actor I have seen. I believe he is six feet or so, plus long hair and some more bulk and I think he would fit the part really well.

So am I to understand that everyone here hated Troy? Because I personally love that movie, and I think the fight scene between Achilles and Hector is one of the best fight scenes I've seen in film. On top of the fact that he can hang physically, he's a phenomenal actor. I don't think physically you will ever find someone who IS Thor, because inherently Thor is a god.

I think HHH really looks the part, and I happen to really like HHH to be honest. However, I wouldn't want him to prove himself on a movie like Thor (even though I think he wouldn't be bad necessarily).

I really liked Troy but the scenario had many mistakes...
