Is everyone basing their pessimism one the one review here, or is there more out there?

We're talking about the MCU which I just happen to love a ton more than the turtle person.

Now if kara could just come forward with his Logan review I could die a happy person.
Going on Friday! Trying my damndest to avoid spoilers.

All of them are more or less the same. Even the ones that don't mention the whole "represantation" thing have found problems. Here: https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/marvel/iron_fist/minor-spoilers-early-iron-fist-reviews-indicate-a-rough-a149477

About the fights (dunno which review, it's from /co/):

>The action scenes throughout the first six episodes are few and far between, and when they come, they’re filmed and edited in a manner where it becomes hard to tell what Danny is doing, or if he’s remotely the brilliant fighter he’s being sold as. The first few fights have all the actors, Jones in particular, moving so slowly and tentatively, it feels like they filmed the first rehearsal and moved on. I wanted to write that off as the show’s way of demonstrating that Danny is so good, he barely needs to make an effort against civilians — an approach that served Luke Cage well at times — but later fights aren’t any more impressive, even if Danny is moving slightly faster. (He’s not even involved in a long and elaborate combat sequence until late in the fourth episode.) Colleen’s fights look a bit better in comparison, but are also edited so aggressively that it’s all but impossible to tell.

>It would be easy to blame the choppiness of the action on the fact that so few modern filmmakers understand how to shoot and edit this stuff anymore. (One of the reasons John Wick struck a chord with the audience was that its directors knew that less is often more in the genre, and focused on making sure we could easily follow everything Keanu Reeves was doing.) But Iron Fist comes out of the Netflix/Marvel factory, where Daredevil features some of the most exciting — and most classically composed — fight scenes in all of television, as the camera just hangs back and lets us watch the Man Without Fear kick and flip his way through one army of bad guys after another(*). The skimpiness and infrequency of the Iron Fist fight scenes suggest a production doing whatever it can to keep you from noticing that the greatest warrior ever produced by the Seven Capital Cities of Heaven, who should be able to cut his way through men like in the comics page below, instead moves like a guy who can’t wait to get his green belt at the strip mall dojo.

Damn.... all that drama for nothin' .. for shame for shame.
This might be netflix first dud

Maybe they should have hired an actor with a more physical pressence or train this guy more. Actors can't fake knowing martial arts let alone portraying a master.

I still wish they would've got Charlie Hunnam or Dan Stevens in the role. I'm still willing to give Loras a chance but he doesn't have that physical presence.

Damn, this was the Netflix show I was looking forward to the most.

Hopefully I'll enjoy it.

Yeah, me too.

He screened the first six episodes. Maybe the last six make up for it?

After Daredevil's incredible street level fighting scenes, I was worried how good Iron Fist's scenes would be. Looks like it's a valid issue.

Seems like the quality of Marvel Netflix series could be trending downwards with each subsequent release. IMO, Daredevil was very good, Jessica Jones was good but not quite DD level quality (As a whole, I found DD to be the better series, but the best episodes in JJ outshined DD's best episodes), and I haven't had a chance to finish Luke Cage yet.

I think it has been high overall, with hiccups in each series. I think Luke Cage was the worst of the bunch, but still good. It thought Jessica Jones was as good as Daredevil.

That is a true crime. Still, if Ant-Man is an 80 something percent, then I can see why Doctor Strange is sitting at 90. All I can do is wait, hope and pray the MCU gets their first rotten movie next :lol

Just as long as it's not spidey

Don't really care for the Netflix shows except daredevil. Jj was a snooze fest, and Luke cage sucked near the end and this just looks boring to. Sad that none of these characters will see the big screen soon.

i really didnt like Jj and luke cage looks boring. so yeah only daredevil and punisher for me

I loved them all but this didn't look right from the early footage. Booo.

Lets see, still going to watch it.

Netflix has at the very least earned that from me.

Agreeed. DD sold me into this format. Jones and Cage had likable elements but overall I didn't like them much. I have two episodes left to watch on LC but I simply have no desire to waste 2 hrs on it.

I was hoping IF and Defenders would re-ignite my passion for these series but early reviews make me weary. Naturally I'll watch it and decide for myself but appears to be headed towards another snooze feast.

A 0% on RT! :rotfl

I blame these two. :chase

I didn't like the first season of DD at first but rewatchin' it later made me appreciate it much more.
But I still didn't care for the fight scenes, especially the final one.
