Okay, I went back and read several more reviews from Rotten Tomatoes (currently there are 17 reviews-15 of them are negative). I read about 10 of them, including the two positive ones. I will say that there were a few criticisms about the show, that I could see may have merit. Having said that, of the reviews that I read, all of the following publications listed as either their main or one of their first listed criticisms, Danny's ethnicity not being Asian: 20 Film Ink, IO9, Daily Dot, Entertainment Weekly, A.V. Club, Vulture, and Variety (there may be more, because as I said, I only got through about 10 of the 17). Of these publications, several of them included the criticism about Danny's ethnicity in the first two or three paragraphs. The review in Vulture, while making the criticism about Danny's ethnicity, even included a link to an article that they had previously written titled "Why Should Netflix Have Cast an Asian-American Iron Fist?" In addition to these articles, there was at least one other article that made the same criticism less overtly by choosing their wording a little more carefully. I'm paraphrasing here, but they said something to the effect of, "while Jessica Jones and Luke Cage made their protagonists interesting by showing you the world through the lens of a woman, or an African American, there is simply nothing interesting about the character of Danny Rand." So, at least one publication was a little more careful in its phrasing, but they were basically making the same point.
I'll say again, "Iron Fist" may be a bad show, but after reading several of these reviews, I can tell that many of the reviewers aren't using the same criteria that I will use to determine that. So, I'm just going to make that determination for myself.
