How can you trust reviews that complain about the ethnicity of the main character when that's the one thing they got right?

:clap

I'm going to give it a go tomorrow at midnight and if its as boring as the reviews say it will help me fall asleep :lol

Iron Fist is one of my fav comic book characters so I am hoping for the best. I think i'll enjoy it regardless.

I'll loosely watch it while it's playing in the background while I love my life :lol

I was called Bizarro crows in the batman v superman thread because of the 180 turn i did after i saw it and became a hater.
I went from extremely hopeful to full hater when i saw it.

But yeah, bvs was only hated because of critics. Had nothing to do with being awful.

Your point goes both ways. Does logan deserve a 90% tomato score? F-- no....

Deserves a 65% at most .... thats being generous. People praise it cuz of the hype
But all RT does is decide if a review is, on balance, more positive or negative, then clumps them into groups and calculates a percentage. Based on that, I certainly do think Logan deserves a 90%+ review on RT (even if the movie itself is maybe more of a 7.5/10 on average in the minds of most reviewers). Similarly, even though the DC movies typically blow, and may get a 15% or so on RT, that doesn't mean it's a 1.5/10. Those are probably closer to 4/10. So, something to consider I think. Metacritic tries to get at this, but the secrecy behind their scoring protocol keeps me from putting too much stock in it.

As for judging something totally for yourself, I wish I had the time to do all that! But when I get maybe 2 hours in a day to relax, I'm not usually going to gamble on something that is critically panned. Does that mean I'll miss out on some movies I would otherwise like? Probably. But I don't like playing those odds. I like the way Netflix does things, though. They seem to give you an estimated rating based on the ratings by those with interests similar to you, and so Daredevil gives me a 5 star estimate, while a Kevin James movie gives me a half star or whatever, and chances are I will be in line with that.

Having said all that, I'll at least give Iron Fist a chance because I was a big time Power Man/Iron Fist fan as a kid, and Iron Fist was always one of my favorite Marvel characters from a design perspective. But I won't promise to watch the whole thing if it doesn't keep my interest going.

First episode had some painfully boring parts and dragged a bit... but I'm still going to give it a go and hope it gets better.
