I don't now what a Teela is but you're off-base with Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers. The majority of the illustrators who have penned her in the comics since she took over the CM mantle have given her plenty of curves. Having a full costume (not unlike Captain Carter, btw) and a shorter haircut doesn't make her androgynous. Heck, she's most often drawn as the Charlize Theron statuesque type, and she's had an on-going, off/on romantic relationship with Rhodey most of the time.
Given it was a Kree space suit I cut them slack for the initial design, but going forward you’d think they’d give her a less restrictive, more form fitting suit. Fully powered she no longer even needs the suit to go space, so a fabric catsuit will work just fine. I’m sure Brie wouldn’t mind wearing something more comfortable, plus they’ll likely CGI the hell out of it anyway lol.
I was referring to stuff like this:

Well, I did say the majority of the illustrators.
The first and last examples there are pretty bad - I don’t care for those animation styles whatsoever. The two in the middle IMO aren’t any “butcher” than Captain Carter. You can’t really judge them based on haircuts, as Peggy is from the 1940s when short hairstyles for women were mostly nonexistent. And i don’t know how you can judge the third one when any curves are hidden by the leather jacket.
Why? She was clearly always interested in him for who he was as a person.Loved the animation but yeah some SJW stuff going on. Difficult to believe Peggy and Steve’s relationship would’ve progressed without Steve’s physical transformation.
That only happens in the movies or animated spin offs. In real life Steve would’ve been regulated to “friend” status. Even then in the first movie she was just ”charmed” by weakling Steve but only when he transformed and got those super soldier pecs did her ovaries dance a jig and Steve become “the whole package” Captain bangable. Why? It really doesn’t, there are plenty of people in real life that don’t care about appearances at all, sometimes a good personality is all that it takes to impress someone. That only happens in the movies or animated spin offs. I'd say most of the time. But I think women may be more likely to overlook physical imperfections than men (at least when they're younger) -- and to be fair Steve literally took bullets in combat with zero fear, which would probably elevate him. It's an unlikely pairing but not impossible in context. That only happens in the movies or animated spin offs. In real life Steve would’ve been regulated to “friend” status. I agree with most of this. Not sure I agree that women are more likely to overlook physical imperfections though, but there doesn't seem to be any real evidence for this and a whole bunch of anecdotal evidence. The only example I know of is from a study about ten years ago done by an online dating site where women rated 80% of men unattractive, while men rated women more evenly. Obviously this is a limited population, and I haven't actually read the study.I'd say most of the time.
