Finially finished up Insanity last night, only took me about 17 hours....it was the most painful experience of my gaming life.

First time through, nobody died in the suicide missions, but for Insanity, I went in without upgrading the ship and only had 3 loyalties; and it was crazy.

The occular laser guys absolutely trashed my ship. Jack, Tali, and Thane ALL died before I even landed Then Legion, Mordin, Jacob, and Samara all died during the mission. So pretty much the only ones to live were Miranda, Grunt, and Zaaed. It was pretty hilarious

if you do all the characers loyalty missions but one remains neutral ( jack in my case ) will he/she survive if characters are arranged well ( plan on using what kain suggested for the suicide mission) just curious.

Damn, that some crazy Insanity mission!!!

Thanks to everyone that posted, was able to go back and redo my suicide mission so that all lived

Selected Garrus as the squad leader each time; Jack as the Biotic and then Legion for the door. Everyone made it AND still got kelly at the end. Perfect ending!!!

Jack's loyalty mission doesn't take too long, I would just bust that out real quick.

i did the jack mission but in the jack/miranda dispute i sided with miranda, thus remaining nuetral

Jack will die. I did the same thing my first play through.

First time I sided with Jack - and Miranda died no matter what I did. I tried the final battle at least a dozen times different ways.

Second time I sided with Miranda...and Jack died EXCEPT when I put Garrus in charge of the fire team every time. IF you put Miranda in charge Jack will die. Everyone was loyal but Jack was neutral.

Got to add - this is the best game I have played in a long, long time. (well since Gears2 )

Garrus seems to be the top choice to avoid people dying...

Thought I doubt we'll see several people in ME3: Thane (still dying, I assume), Samara (this was a temp mission for her), Zeev (temp job for him too)....

As the female Shep, none of the ladies would give me love, except Kelly at the end, which was cool....! The romance was definitely a little more limited for me this time

As long as I get Miranda, Tali, Garrus, and Legion for ME 3 I'll be happy (plus Kaiden needs to get over it, and Liara needs to get back with me).

Yeah, unless you have both loyal it's not smart to have Miranda lead the team while having Jack there. And for those having random people dying at the end:

Make sure you keep people there who can hold the line, who can defend a position against an onslaught of enemies. Mordin is the most likely to die in that scenario, as well.

still shaking my head while the credits roll by.

why can games be just like this.
I had chills at the end when shepard emerges from the ruins.
Epic.

if there was an 24/h video gamestore open righ now I would be there picking up part 2.

I will be picking part 2 tomorrow 100%
I cant wait to continue this epic story.

Glad you liked it! That was definitely one of the most moving moments in any game I've played.

Make you sure you run through it at least once on renegade and paragon, as this will ensure you get the most out of your ME2 playthrough when your Shepards come back.

Just beat it for the second time. Actually got everyone through alive, and Tali wasn't loyal.

This is what I did(found it on the internet):

Spoiler

Keep Tali in your squad for all parts except for the final battle.
Legion in vents. (Grunt as other squad mate)
Miranda as leader BOTH times.
Samara as biotic field person. ( Tali and Legion in squad)
Mordin gets the crew back.
Miranda and Thane for squad against platforms and final boss.

Time for a 3rd play through.

I flipped through one at a bookstore recently. If you're planning on getting one solely for the art section, I'd advise against it. The art section was only about 24 pages and only a few of those pages are concept art. The rest are character model renders. Some of it was actually screen shots from the game. Pretty disappointing. I think it came with a poster, but couldn't see the artwork on it.

Aside from that, it also includes a few pages of the Mass Effect Redemption comic book and an interview with the creative director in the back.
