Although this piece has gotten some pretty nasty reviews, I found one for $250 brand new and jumped on it. I was planning to repaint the head sculpt. Has anyone attempted this yet? Id like to see pics. My ideas were to shade the hair a darker brown, pretty much black. Also shadow his beard a bit more, also in black. Maybe Im looking at him wrong in the game, but isnt his hair black in the game? Alot of the pics I see in this thread show him with a very light brown hair. The prototypes look dark dark brown, almost black. Please post more pics! Im a huge Mass Effect fan and I think this piece is amazing looking, but the head just needs some touching up.

I was going to point out that the Illusive Man was a huge oversight. Never mind. He's at the bottom. I'm so ordering the regular edition. It's too bad they never made a decent figure or statue of Shepard but this will more than suffice for my ME fix in my home theater room.
I just spent about 30 min typing a detailed review, then my page refreshed and it all got deleted so Im just going to touch on a few points.
In hand it is wayyyy better. I was very skeptical but now that I see it in hand I am a big fan of this piece. I was going to repaint the head judging by other pics in this thread but I think people are just taking horrible pics of it. I thought the skin tone was going to be too light but its perfect. The eyes look much better in hand and have some little veins in it and dont look so animated as in previous pics in this thread. The texture of the skin is not bad, its different and adds some realism to it, its not as bad as people are making it sound. If I touched up anything on the head, it would be the scar in the hair line, they were not the most careful in painting the hair to not get it on the scar. Its not bad by any means but I think it should look more obvious then it is. The hair itself looks great and much darker in hand. previous thread pics make it look light brown but in hand it is dark and looks about right. I think the head looks more based between ME2 and 3. In ME2 the scaring on the face was more fresh and obvious and his beard shadow was lighter in ME2. In ME3 the scaring is not as obvious and his beard is more shadowed. This does not effect the quality, just wanted to point out how I perceive the head. Overall this piece is great and I think people are knocking it without seeing it in person. I got mine at ThinkGeek.com. It was less then $250 with a coupon code total shipped and they shipped it in the original sideshow brown box. They shipped it in 2 days using the standard UPS shipping choice. I think people need to rethink their decision on this piece. It is a must have for any ME fan!

I just recently got around to ordering the regular edition of this poster. It's great. I'm having trouble finding a frame that isn't backed with cardboard. Might have to make a custom one with some acid free foam core or something.

idk man..the proto imo looked like crap..the face is damn awful….again..on the PROTO..the production piece came out worse than the proto so you do the math. I bought it but I'm getting it repainted straight away I'm not even getting it shipped to me first.
