while nothing is perfect, shockingly my Orko's ears were just fine....sounds like good batches and bad batches went out

Because the vintage line is nearly 25 years old! The 200X stuff was still being made up until about 5 years ago. The classic designs are what got this line of the ground, it was an updated vintage He-Man that got people excited not a 200X one.
Don't get me wrong though I do like some of the 200X designs were appropriate or if it works. I personally don't think the Whiplash 200X head works as his body isn't the correct design.

I don't think the articulation was terrible, they were simply paying homage to the articulation on the vintage figures and though the articulation was hardly up there with Marvel Legends it was far from the worst at the time.
I disagree about Whiplash, I think the 200X head doesn't look right in this case. There is a fine balancing act to be done with these figures and it's not easy. Does Mattel simply give us the one definitive figure of the character or will they be forced to give us vintage and 200X renditions???

:exactly:

In the end it comes down to what the horsemen want to do. And so far, they've been true to the 200x and the vintage versions. and that keeps me happy.

It also keeps more collectors buying the line, thus ensuring that Teemu will eventualy get his Catskull Greyskull.

I like having a mix of vintage and 2002 versions. I had a lot of fun but also dealt with frustration trying to hunt down all of those impossible to find 2002 figures and even went into stores I'd never normally go into like Aldi and Shopko to get them.

This is how I feel about the 2002 He-Man series:

Was gonna try and cut back on MOTU, but i bit the bullet and got the 2011 subscription!! Couldnt help it i have them all except for tytus!!

I do. I won't be buying it if it only comes with one head, it looks absolutely terrible.

the 200x buzzoff head will look terrible on the 'updated' classics vintage body. These extra 200x "Anime" heads that everybody wants, just dont look right on the classics bodies(Whiplash doesnt look right with it)....When my boy Fisto arrives...they said, probably two heads for him,but he'll never get a 200x head on my piece. It doesnt really belong on a vintage style body....thats my biggest problem with the classics using the 200x influence...200x Anime sculpted era heads on Motu classics bodies :gah:

I was going to wait until I got home from work to buy the sub today and didn't realize it ended at 4PM Pacific. I'm screwed in 2011.:exactly:

Well there's those that like the 200x heads, that's why they come with 2 so you can use the one YOU like!!

Am I the only one who thinks it's ironic the the smarter version of this character was the one in the 80's cartoon. But the vintage head sculpt doesn't look as intelligent as the 200X does with his cold focused eyes?

Meh, I hope we get two heads for Buzz-Off, personally. I don't really prefer one over the other, but I do like having the option of displaying him in vintage style or with a little more of a modern take.

Same here. I like the idea of 2 head sculpts at that price point. I'm not a big MOTU 200x fan, but some of the head sculpts weren't that bad (even though I prefer vintage...it's what I grew up with).
