Wow! You really dropping the line Skiman??

I actually listen to it :monkey1

I must of missed the Vikor's Horse

the broadcast has been kinda dead as of late (no new broadcasts)

The only problem I have with the broadcast is you guys goof off too much, and go off-topic at times, which makes the broadcast much longer than it needs to be

Fair crit there! I am pretty bad ant meandering. But we got Toy Guru on and Eric Fourhorsemen on ones that Val just hasn't had time to upload yet! :)

If you mean what he said about the .org making up a small amount of consumers and not being as important to the bottom line as they think, I'd have to side with TG here. They're extremely vocal, but at the end of the day they're not the most important segment of buyers. The sad fact is that a good majority of the people over there have completely lost touch with reality and over value their worth, and when someone points out that they're not the only thing keeping MOTU going they lose their ____ over it and call for their heads.

I honestly applaud TG for not going off on the people there months ago.

Sigh! You really have no idea what you a re talking about to be honest here dude.

Take away He-man.org members who buy ....and see the line collapse. That is a fact. A fact supported my pure numbers and stats. If you need me to tell you, I can. I believe Toy Guru is digesting some facts and figures too and is feeling a little embarrased. As he should. True or not, it was pretty disrespectful for his customer base, forum members and site owners to say what he said.

Anybody can dip into a website read a few posts and make out that all 8193 active members are the same as the five stupid posts you read.
I could apply that logic to these boards too but I won't as that would give me a very false picture of the people on here.

I've been visiting the .org boards for, oh...the better part of a decade, so I'm actually fairly well informed on the goings on over there and the userbase and such.

You can tout the 8193 active members all you want, but I'd wager less than half of those actually buy the toys, and less than half of those hold subs. As important as we like to think we are here in collectors' forums, we're a very small percentage of the actual buying public.

I think TG let a little of his frustration with that community slip through in his answer and he's now playing damage control because he knows if he doesn't, he'll have some obese idiot in a He-Man birthday paper hat show up on his doorstep and beat him to death with a Power Sword replica for daring to suggest that he's not the one and only reason the line exists.

There's a good reason why I only read those forums, and that's, well...Val Staples, but a good second place goes to the complete idiocy on display there regularly. It has its great members who actually contribute valuable information and discussion, but they're frankly overwhelmed by people who need to go outside and realize Eternia isn't a real place.

Personally, I'm all but done with the line. I had originally signed up for a 2012 sub along with the GB sub, but since they cancelled GB and more has been revealed for 2012, I think I'm actually going to cancel the sub. Sure I'd like Fisto, Khan, and Stinkor, but I'm not interested in more than half of what's been revealed so far, and I know there won't be more vintage characters I do want in 2012.

I think the idea behind MOTUC was a good idea, but then it blew up too fast, and now its on a steep decline. For every one person clamoring for the Star Sisters or 'Josh' there are 50 saying 'I don't want or need this.' I think a good majority of collectors are getting fed up with the way the line is handled and are at the point where they can say 'I have most of what I wanted.'

The fact that there's no new media behind the line means its running purely on nostalgia. And I'm willing to be most people aren't interested in 'new' characters and would rather just have the vintage stuff redone. With 2012 having the lowest sub numbers yet, I'm willing to bet 2013 is when the line starts venturing into major trouble.

I agree alot with this post

The Star Sisters certainly didn't help sell the subs.Yeah, some people wanted them, but I doubt they were demanded as a whole. They should of left them out of the Sub or made them a SDCC exclusive. When you buy the Sub,your forced to buy characters your not really interested in and with price increases going forward, its not making me interested to buy all product, but only just get the characters I really want. Also,The All or Nothing attitude from Mattel is starting to get old aswell.

I am constantly reading by Org members that their 2013 Sub purchase will be up in the air or they are going full on cherry picker for next year.If the line is really going to be Subscription focused only, yeah don't count on this great line lasting much longer.I have a buddy who said 2012 is his last sub buy and I am debating it myself.

and larger buyers like Ski-man and the Scal-por's are bailing on this line! Again, like everything, its ALL about Money

He-Man.org gets 100,000 UNIQUE hits per month.

Do you really think it has only 200 buying members like Toy Guru said?

I think you are short changing the website's importance for the brand yet you have been a member for a whole decade no less.

That's not to say that I disagree with folks on forums thinking themselves important or decisions makers. That's on most forums I would say.

I can totally understand a certain level of frustration towards annoying fans but you don't see the Four Horsemen makinging verbal fumbles like that.....ever!

On this I can completely agree with you. I don't post over there myself anymore. Lots of sillyness is my polite description. :)

)

all things being fair, one user can account for 3 uniquie visits.

Home computer
Work computer
Smartphone

some people might use school, or have a laptop in addition to a home machine, so that's up to 5, but to be safe, we'll just go with 3.

so figure it's realistically more like 30,000 unique visitors per month.

HOWEVER, even then, I'd still say that the l.org has more than 200 buying members

Though, I'd wager that BBTS has about 40 units of buying power alone :lol

Well, 200 may be a bit low, obviously, but to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if it were that low. A good amount of people over there simply don't put their money where their mouth is, and I would wager that, based on the active posters, it's definitely at 500 or less. Now, fans of the property probably do check out the site en masse, much like you and I do, but don't participate over there because it's basically a cesspool of insanity. I wouldn't count them among the 200 TG stated, because I'm sure he was probably referencing the active posters instead of the overall numbers of visitors to the site in his sales data.

I completely agree that it's not just the .org, it's basically every site dedicated to the hobby out there. It's a pet peeve of mine in general, though the guys over at the .org, for some reason, just seem to tick me off more than most other sites because they're just so over the top.

I would imagine, with TG being the go-to guy for fan relations and such, that he's a hell of a lot more frustrated with the .orgers than the 4H would be based on his level of interaction alone. In my eyes, the guy's a saint for being able to put up with what he does. I can't friggin' imagine seeing some of the things people have written about him and not losing it on them if I were in his spot. It's insane.

Can someone please tell me what TG said or help me find this quote?

I can't find the exact quote, but basically he said that the .org fans are very vocal, but only make up a small portion of the buying public and aren't as vital to the line as they think they are.

Tonight I'm looking at the latest in the MOTUC series - Icarius! He might be just a New Adventures spaceman, but he turned out much better than I expected.

You can find the review at the usual:

As I said above, you have no clue about what you talking about. I mean that is the most polite way. I can't say anything more than that really.
I don't expect you to agree with that of course.

Well that's one way of putting it. You are not being fair at all here man I must say. He was quite disrespectful. A brand manager can think all he wants. What he should say in (buying) public is something else entirely.

I think you need to look at things more objectively and you are totally shortchanging the importance of He-Man.org on the brand. Which I think very odd all things considered.

Anyways, forget this man. We need some Icarius pics! :)

I fully admit that I'm not exactly unbiased when it comes to my opinions about He-Man.org, but they're just that...my opinions. Not saying they're 100% true, but I just can't deal with the way some of the fans act over there.

Can't disagree there. But to be honest, I am getting burned out with forums in general. Way too many keyboard warriors with childish tempers and low IQ's.

Uhm...I can actually agree with that statement. Now whether those sentiments should of been verbalized is a totally different subject. You just don't ____ where you eat. Simple logic.
