actually the .org wouldn't let me join for many years cuz of their stupid registering rules which i still can't understand. i am a member of about a dozen different message boards and none of them denied me based on my email address and none of them have a spam problem. so what's the deal? i finally 'cheated' my way into the .org and i have voiced my opinions of certain things only to see my posts get deleted within 2 minutes. you can have opinions over there, but they have to be the 'right' opinions i guess.
Very much so. I was a member over there for a couple of years or more, and discovered in very short order that 'might makes right'. In other words, if you are within their favoured clique of posters, or if your views are shared by the mods, then you can say whatever you want
almost however you want. If your view is a voice in the wilderness, or if you make a good case for a view that the mods themselves oppose, prepare for much deletion of posts, regardless of how politely and reasonably you state your case. And because such posts are all deleted quietly without warning or notice, most folks who haven't seen their posts mysteriously disappear aren't even aware of just how often it happens.
After having my views deleted without warning or good reason on several occasions, despite none of them being presented in an inflamatory or insulting fashion, I got the message that my views obviously weren't welcome, and just up and left. Even asked that my account be deleted, which they refused to do by the way. But when I tried to log in at a (much) latter date I found I had instead been banned at some point.
I mean it is their site, so they can ultimately do whatever they want, but yeah, can't say I am a personal fan of the org or how it is run, or how it selectively treats members, no, not at all.
