Wow, you guys have really disappointed me here. Talking about other boards is pretty lame - it's like talking behind someone's back where they can't defend themselves. The .Org is not perfect. No message board is. If you've got a problem with it, I wonder if you have the balls to actually go there and post these thoughts.
actually the .org wouldn't let me join for many years cuz of their stupid registering rules which i still can't understand. i am a member of about a dozen different message boards and none of them denied me based on my email address and none of them have a spam problem. so what's the deal? i finally 'cheated' my way into the .org and i have voiced my opinions of certain things only to see my posts get deleted within 2 minutes. you can have opinions over there, but they have to be the 'right' opinions i guess.

I open 99.99% of my stuff. It's very rare for me to keep things in the packaging, I like to pose and play with them.

The only figure I have displayed in the packaging is the mail-away Star Wars rocket firing Boba Fett.

I open most everything. I don't see the joy in having a pile of white boxes.

And I posted my thoughts on how the Org was handled and it's place in the community over there several times, and then my posts were deleted. Since then I've realized what a futile effort it is.

Ha!! This is amazing stuff!!

I wonder which is a nicer place to be today.
A place where biggorty and dumb as ****ness come together in that oh so predictbale way
OR
A place where folks discuss which fictional characters they would date.

I think I will go with the love rather than the hate.

(oh that rymes too!) :rock

I haven't been over at this thread in a few days, are we asking this here too? It is a good conversation starter if I do say so myself.

I'm not even getting into the discussion about it because it will go in circles and neither side will change their views. I do have Carnivus in my collection, yes. However, I'm not sexually attracted to him. I don't have anything against anthropomorphized characters, I just have no tolerance for the furry culture. Nothing will ever change my views.

Very much so. I was a member over there for a couple of years or more, and discovered in very short order that 'might makes right'. In other words, if you are within their favoured clique of posters, or if your views are shared by the mods, then you can say whatever you want almost however you want. If your view is a voice in the wilderness, or if you make a good case for a view that the mods themselves oppose, prepare for much deletion of posts, regardless of how politely and reasonably you state your case. And because such posts are all deleted quietly without warning or notice, most folks who haven't seen their posts mysteriously disappear aren't even aware of just how often it happens.

After having my views deleted without warning or good reason on several occasions, despite none of them being presented in an inflamatory or insulting fashion, I got the message that my views obviously weren't welcome, and just up and left. Even asked that my account be deleted, which they refused to do by the way. But when I tried to log in at a (much) latter date I found I had instead been banned at some point.

I mean it is their site, so they can ultimately do whatever they want, but yeah, can't say I am a personal fan of the org or how it is run, or how it selectively treats members, no, not at all.

Yeah they can do whatever they want, doesn't mean you have to like it. I can't register there myself due to their insane email reqs. Who even has an ISP email address anymore? I haven't had one for over a decade. I mean I do have one, I just haven't logged into it in over 10 years and couldn't even tell you what it is, so in practice I don't have one.

I work at a University so I guess I could use that but I don't want to use my professional email for a personal website. I only wanted to register though to be able to see attachments in the customs forum since of course they block those unless you're registered. I don't know what they are so paranoid about.

Yes I will!!
I have the head ready!!
I actually did a Photoshop of it...
:lol!
