he does have a point man the main complain from the thundercat classic figures were they werent motu size lol which even if they were the same size the quality of the TC would still suck and be on a different self . but for motu fans complain about almost all the female figs when they are revealed (ofc this changes when they get them in hand like most figures) and concept figures (which rock IMO). so yea i can see him blowing off steam at people hounding him over and over about the same things and then flip flop when the figures in their hand

While Toyguru doesn't like to hear the negativity or the complaints...in the End, we are paying customers who has invested 5 years into this line (if you buy subs, then yes that makes you a paying investor, buying subs equal bought contract)

I think customers have legitimate concerns and the painting over black plastic is a bad move...the figures will be close to $40 a piece in 2013,so customers just want quality for the price we pay.

but it makes for the "mechanical telescopic" how? i mean he had a broken neck they didnt just fix it they improved it u forgetting that cy-chop was a blue beastman looking guy before the current look due to being injured , and yea idk like the look much either but its a new horde member so im all for it

Im all for having a cybernetic beastlike man but its the design aesthetic thats the problem here. He looks like they reached into a bin of random parts and created a character from it. Why is his body clear? Why is his head one solid piece of metal? Why leave biological legs and arms if they are attatched to a mechanical torso? Why have biological arms if they dont even have hands? He looks like he had about 2.5 second worth of thought put into him. And the worst part is they made him a member of the Horde!!! The Horde are all badasses, like amped up versions of Skeletors crew....and now they have to deal with THIS reject amongst thier ranks?!?!?!

Despite my rant I will say that if the head wasnt a solid metal color and his torso wasnt Roboto style clear Id be able to accept this character...to a degree.

but like he said , mattel could just drop the line without losing any sleep over it, he and im sure others are pushing to keep the line but people on ask matty ask the same questions over and over like they will all the sudden change their answers. and true about the black plastic but thats new unless u just started collecting which the way u talk i think it is lol. but what about the concept figures? hell the 30th was a different sub but yet people complain over it anyways (which was a hell of an idea the line was awesome). if it were u dealing with the mass number of negative complaints would you be so cool headed?

Yep,
people do not realize how good this line is despite it's issues...
Unfortunately MOTU is no Star Wars, or Transformers, or G.I. Joe...
I know Mattel wants to cautiously invest on it, but if the people @ Mattel that are fighting for MOTU get only crap from some pshyco-fans, then maybe they will just say "screw this..." and be done with it... and the fans then will whine about not having toys at all...

thats what im saying im so thankful to have this line and hope it last for even longer but now im just a bit ticked off that we will miss on whatever new stuff they had in store for the line by going off their map in 2014 i bet it was maybe going to be alot of concept which would of loved it , though im glad they will stop making the gaint figures( tytus is the one i wanna custom in the 6inch scale xD but cant as of yet)

honestly, after Ram Man and Jitsu,I could care less anymore with their threats...

I understand what Toyguru is dealing with, but when Money is involved, people have the right to complain..

I am just glad that 2013 will wrap up 1982-1985 (minus Mantenna)

this comment sums it up for me

"Duh Scott. Every Business knows that a customer only supplies about 90% negative feedback and 10% good feedback. Happy customers don’t spend time praising. Companies recognize this and move on and use the negative feedback to find opportunities in their product. A good company would say “thanks for pointing this out” instead of “man you are so negative!” Can you imagine complaining about a meal in a restaurant and the manager saying, “you are so negative…you know we should have never put it on the menu as a favor to people anyway.” LOL

You make money or you would have never started this line. Don’t act like you are doing Charity work. If your sales are down listen to your customers….or maybe you guys need a new marketing or PR team."

But people don't seem to understand that Matty is indeed a sub-brand of Mattel, and doesn't have the resources a brand like Hot Wheels or Barbie has...
And regardless of that... the rude and disrespectful comments some people are making are truly pathetic...

These are toys, this is supposed to be fun...
He-Man wouldn't approve...

I agree with that

He-Man doesn't really exist ;)

...wow..

Those comments..
Well.. that's what is commonly referred to on the chan boards as Aspie Manchildren with entitlement issues..

Or as we call them here, Hot toys fanbois.

Makes me wanna write a letter to Toyguru appologiszeing for the human race.

you know how many issues i've had with the line since It started?
REAL issues, not character, or design choices i Didn't like.

just one. the Black balljoints.. that's a bone-head decision. And you know what? TG is collecting Photo's like crazy, getting ready to take action and fix it.

In the grand scheme of things, MOTUC is a bottom-tier collectors line.

And people are expecting top-tier products ( like hot toys), for bottom -tier pricing.

Even with their faults, these are some of the best action figures on the market. Yes, matty has issues, but holy crap, those questions directed at him? wow, Just wow.

Neither does God... or Satan for that matter...
:horror!!!
:panic:!!

I agree dude...
As for REAL issues with my figures... some weak ankle joints on 3-4 figures and Stinkor's reversed forearms and that's it...

Please for the sake of keeping this thread from getting derailed can we all avoid going down this path? Let's try to respect everyone regardless of what anyone's beliefs are or aren't.

Not sure what Scott is trying to accomplish with those comments, but it's not going to reduce the negativity. He tends to add more fuel to the fire with comments like

But come on. Look at any other collector lines.

Does he really want to go there? Sideshow kicks Mattel's butt up and down the block. Especially when it comes to ordering directly from them. The only thing, and I mean the ONLY thing that makes this line worthy of collector status is the 4H's involvement. Digital River, the in-house design team and the doublespeak shell games like to take turns squeezing the life out of customer satisfaction. They charge a premium for the scale but they consistently hem and haw around every major CS issue that cross their eyeballs.

Yes MOTUC has had issues, but not issues that I think are worthy of the amount of negativity that sometimes generates. Other lines tend to skate by while MOTUC fans just want to throw everything under the bus as quick as they can.

Whether you believe they're worthy to complain about or not, the onus is on the Brand Manager to figure out how to reduce the bad feedback. If it's baseless trolling, ignore it. Antagonizing the ENTIRE fanbase is a mistake that only says to me he needs to take a big step back from this thing.

All of this winds up being not very good reasons to keep a line going. (do you not realize how cool it is that we are even GETTING new MOTU each month? Remember what it was like in 2004-2007? Nothing new. very easy to take what we are getting for granted)

How crass is it that he continues to remind everyone how precarious the line is after all we had to do to get 2013? Did I mention he needs to take a big step back?

2004-2007 saw some pretty cool stactions actually. Scott is throwing all the hard earned goodwill that came from getting the 2013 sub greenlit out the window.
