eek, I just looked at the shipping calculator on UPS and based on the size and weight Matty gives for Castle Greyskull UPS quotes around $200 for ground shipping in the US.

No way the shipping will actually cost that much right?

…well the shipping for single figures is about 1/3 the cost… so if the shipping on Greyskull is 1/2 the overall cost I can't say I'll be super surprised.

UPS seems to care more about weight than package size. I bought a rapier recently and the package was around four feet long but only weighed a couple pounds and cost $12 to ship UPS ground.

ALERT! For those of you who haven't preordered Castle Grayskull yet, now might be a good time! Though it doesn't say it on the page, when you add the Castle to your cart, the current Black Friday Matty sale applies a 15% discount to your purchase... That is a discount of $37.50! Now knowing Matty, this will end up being a screw-up... but hey, it is worth a shot. If it does end up working though, that is a pretty big poo-poo on those that preorded early.

I just off the phone with Matty and they are claiming that “no one” got Castle Greyskull at any discount on Black Friday. I even called a second time and talked to a supervisor and she repeated the same thing. The only discount you would have received would have been on the figure listed, if you added the castle it would not have had any discount applied to it and you would have still paid the full price.

If someone can show me proof that they did please do, so that I can call them again and bless them out for lying to me and then proceed to either get a discount as well, or cancel my order. I don’t trust the sons of B***Hs anyway and it wouldn’t surprise me if it didn’t happen.

I have never posted on he-man.org because of their isp-only email policy which means I can't even register because I don't have an isp email. At least not one I can remember the login information for.

That level of paranoia though to me is a hallmark of someplace I have no interest in being involved in.

Well the customer service people at Matty lied to me after all; people really did get some Castle Greyskulls at 15% off, a supervisor just finally admitted it to me. So yes, it was a mistake, they've stated it on their site it's excluded now. And, everyone who ordered it and got the discount earlier is going to be contacted and told they now need to pay up or they can cancel their order.

I wonder how far the little thermometer will drop back down now?
