I actually watched all three Filmation episodes featuring the new figures with my kids last night.

The Shokoti one was actually pretty damn cool. She had a cool look and she had a nice and nasty plot to rain terror on the world complete with Cthulu-esque minions and lots of maniacal laughter.

The Batros one was freaking lame though. His grand scheme apparently was "Steal all the books in the world + ???????? = World Domination." :lol He looked cool but was probably one of the weakest villains ever to appear on the show.

"The Ice Age Cometh" featuring Icer was okay.

Shokoti was featured in a two-part story that aired during the superior first season which is undoubtedly why she fared better on-screen.

Didn't Mattel clearly state, "Castle Gray Skull won't go into design production until we have enough preorders"?

Their preorder image was also concept/design art for the castle. That's literally all they had.

So, how is it, just in a mere 3 months they've managed to come up with a full, sculpted prototype with all of it's features, accessories, parts, etc? The only thing that isn't complete is paint. They must have had that made for some time, before preorders went up atleast.

LIARS!

That preorder crap they do is annoying as ****. "Won't make it unless we get enough preorders".

If that is the case… and I'm not saying it is, it sucks even more that…

…I was looking at the picture again and trying to figure out why it was so monumentally underwhelming and I think it's in large part because of the scale. While they do cover their asses and say it's subject to change they make a big deal about how big the castle is. From the PO page:

If produced, this will be the largest, most ambitious MOTUC item ever made – the dimensions are expected to be somewhere around 25”h x 26”w x 28”d (subject to change) and it’s in scale with most MOTUC figures (your MOTUC He-Man® will fit through the front door). See the video below featuring a foam mockup for an idea of how big this thing really is!

25" Tall? Yeah… it totally isn't. Clawful there is squatting down to fit inside the door. Even if we give him it the benefit of the doubt and assume he's standing 6.5" tall even all scrunched up like that, the Castle is only around 20" tall. If we assume he's standing more like 6" tall it's even smaller.

Sorry to keep going on about it… I mean I didn't even order the thing I was just surprised by how underwhelming it was and was trying to figure out why. So another weird thing is, on the original diagram the bottom floor is much taller than the top. Where Clawful is standing on the open image is supposed to be 8.219" high and the bottom floor is supposed to be 10.1" high. Leaving aside there being no way that top is over 8" tall since the 6.5" Clawful is almost hitting his head on the ceiling, the bottom floor looks more or less the exact same height as the top. If there's any difference it's minor, not a difference of 2".

Changes are expected through production, it just sucks for those that PO'd that all the changes seem to be for the worse.

:slap'

Yes. Yes, no one could EVER sculpt it in a "mere 3 months." CB from the Four Horsemen sure didn't give his friends updates about working on the sculpt over the last couple months. He sure didn't update about finishing Grayskull and sending off for painting mere days before Toy Fair. Nope, sure couldn't happen. Has to be a big conspiracy. Yep, sure has to.

As has been explained, Clawful fits perfectly through. It's called perspective. :) You have to look at the other pics other than the front one. Looking at the picture with Clawful on the tower, the Castle is about 4 figures high from base to the top of the ball. Which would be around 25''

Read my other post about the inside of the castle. Four figures high? Not so much. He still appears to be squatting here but even if he isn't even with the finial included it's MAYBE three and half figures tall meaning it's around 22-22" tall… MAYBE. I still say it's more like 20" and there's NO WAY the first floor bellow Clawful is 10" tall.

Wait for tomorrow...
everything will be fine...

I see what you're saying, dedguy, but if you look at the original blueprints, the Castle was always meant to be be about 3 1/2 figures tall (excluding the base) and it doe seem to be. I took the in-scale he-man in the blueprint and copied him over into the interior. As you can see, the top floor looks right on. The bottom floor does look shorter, but I think that's because the 4H sculpted the base as quite a bit thicker than the blueprints shown. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing more pics with the figures all over the Castle to get a better sense of it. But, judging by what I see A.) It's going to be immense and B.) I'm not disappointed at all. :)

I thought that Scott had stated that the 25'' was from base to the ball on top of Grayskull, which seems like it'll work out just about right. What's a few inches between friends? LOL

I'm waiting for the DC stuff, but I know you MotU guys follow Mattel stuff pretty closely. Do you know when their panel is?

Octavia looks pretty good....Four Horseman's Power Lords look great too! but too bad they are 3" 3/4 scale

I'll be selling my extra King He-Man

I don't think the flash is doing King He-man a lot of favors in that particular shot, but I'm really excited to get him.
