Unless its some sort of retail exclusive, like the MOTUC/DC packs, I don't see any figure being re-released. They got burned hard with over-estimating demand during 2010 and 2011 when everything got a first and "second" run at the same time, and then they ended up with literally thousands of units of unsold products. Even if the minimum quota to turn the machines on is 5,000 figures, I doubt very much that most figures would sell through. Some very well might, but I think Mattel wouldn't risk it again.

The only one that I see has any cause for a re-release is Fisto, and that's because of the major screw-ups during his release. One thing that was never explained - they had all these Fisto mailers with a Sorceress in them. Did they make the wrong amount of mailers for Fisto? Or was did they make less Fistos than they were supposed to?

In other news, I got Jitsu and Ram Man yesterday. I was thinking recently about why people put up with all the BS from Matty and DR, and then a figure like Ram Man shows up. Whatever Mattel is paying the 4HM, it isn't enough. Their amazing sculpts are the only reason people put up with such crap to get these figures.

My favorite figure was Trap Jaw, and now its Ram Man.

Yeah as much as I complain about Mattel's public face and their customer service… the figures are generally fantastic. Especially MOTUC. I'm not as impressed with the DC stuff which I feel doesn't balance re-use as well as MOTUC does.

It'll be interesting to see what line they move onto after MOTUC...

Can we hope for Thundercats, now that Bandai has failed again? I remember Mattel trying for that license...

I would love to see what they could do with GI Joe, too. Facesculpts in that line these days are so bland and boring... I know a lot of people don't like the idea of a 6" GI Joe line but I'd buy 'em. Or at least the major characters.

Unless its some sort of retail exclusive, like the MOTUC/DC packs...

I have to admit, that was one of the things in the back of my mind while I was writing.

I'd much rather GI Joe stay with Hasbro. I think they have handled the line well and there's a lot of really cool new Joe figures. Plus with the 6" Star Wars line coming it's possible we'd also see a 6" Joe line maybe.

Oh, that's a given. Joe won't leave Hasbro, but I don't see why the Horsemen couldn't leave Mattel.

Yep, one of the main reasons this line is so successful is due to the amazing job the 4H do with these figures.

this is the biggest reason why its hard to walk away from the line..

the sculpts are some of the best in the toy business

For me it's a combination of their rendition of the characters, not just in execution of sculpting but also in design choices… and that the vintage characters are so often just so damn odd/interesting. MOTU has one of the most eclectic mixes of styles and themes I know of.

MOTU is also fairly unique in that the good guys are often as weird and freaky as the bad guys. It's why as a kid I really only had bad guy GI Joe figures but had a mix of both for MOTU.

Yeah, and it's not just their skills as sculptors either - it's the attention to detail. None of the half-measures you see in other "classics" lines, like GI Joe or Transformers.

Mind you, it's a bit easier for them, since the original figures shared so many of the same parts, but still. :)

There's always 2.0 versions of characters. How long have they been making MOTUC? 3 or 4 years? They could revisit some of the earliest ones and try to do an even better job.

For myself, I'm not interested in GI Joe and I was never into Transformers. When the MOTU line is over, I'll just be sticking to 12" figures again.

Have fun with your dolls.

;)

What do you like about it? It's supposed to be Filmation He-Man but looks nothing like him. Even the colors are wrong.

If you consider that the actual cartoon He-Man had completely different faces throughout an episode or even a scene, as well as sometimes mismatched colors and tones, I say it's quite accurate... :lol

Besides the sculptor Amaro said it's still being tweaked, so... let's wait and see! :peace

It's very dark man. You had to use that black didn't ya?! ;)

Still looks good but have you brighter pics?

Lol! Yeah it's dark but it's what I was aiming for tbf :)
If u go over to the castle of power page on FB, I added a couple more.

Devastated i'll never get my hands on Ram Man. Those prices are mental though :(

I feel the same way about Shadow Weaver. I actually don't even like the figure itself all too much but I see that hole in my Horde guys anytime I look at them.

I don't know what they can do to improve figures like He-Man or Mer-Man... they are about as perfect as they can be IMO... :dunno

You don't think that in the next 20 years anyone will make a better one? There's always a way to do things differently, and usually better. It would be an artistic challenge to try and move them up a notch.

In any case, if the majority of the core characters are allowed to stay out of print and get scarcer and scarcer, then the line has to die eventually. New collectors need to be able to get theirs too or there won't be new collectors.

Sorry lads. Last few pics of the CG I promise!

Still dark but I wanted a bit of a realistic paint scheme as opposed to bright green.

I don't think that currently they need updates... maybe a few tweaks but this line is perfect right now...
In 20 years, I'd love to see new MOTU figures... :D

I actually like it a LOT!
Great job dude! :clap

But you should use a Classics He-Man for the pics...
As much as I love the 200x line, it clashes greatly with a classic/vintage look.
