Doesn't matter to me, the designs are quite generic, the Minis had a unique creative design that appealed to me... :dunno

generic how? they look like and have the classic vintage design to me :dunno Seems Hardly anybody gave a crap about Mattel's Mini's

The Loyal Subjects MOTU will Sell (Wave 1 so far is looking like He-man,Skeletor,Trapjaw,Triklops,Stratos,Man E faces,Faker (probably a chase) still revealing more to come

New stuff

Yeah, I like 'em, too, Teemu! It'll be hard to resist... I'll try and get He-Man and Skeletor at the very least, I'm sure!

They'll be doing GI Joes as well. :)

I've never liked figures that look like babies version of themselves... except Muppet Babies, hahaha!
Sorry, it's a taste thing... I thought the Minis had a better overall design concept, these are not my cup of tea...

Hmm, I wouldn't say they look like that myself, but I do get what you're saying, Kuzeh.

I like a lot of these vinyl/chibi type designs, but the first run of Loyal Subjects GI Joes and Transformers didn't do it for me. I did like the Hasbro Mighty Muggs, though, and the Combat/Robot Heroes.

Honestly, I think the main reason I stayed away from the MOTU Minis was because I didn't want to deal with Matty Collector any more than I had to!

The scale change on the MOTU minis was a deal breaker for me. I think the MOTU Minis look better, but the Loyal Subjects ones are cool in their own way. Different things, really. Definitely seem like a better value. Where are they usually sold? Target and the like or just online or comic shops or what? I'm curious and will probably pick up a couple.

online shops like bbts or loyal subjects directly...but they can be found at Hot Topic and even Toys R Us has carried them

Yeah Im definitely not feeling these either. The minis were stylized which made them cool, these guys just have big eyes and tiny noses and sorta look like something some kid would scribble in his notebook. I'm happy for you guys who are excited for them though!

.......of course seeing the item in real life as opposed to a 2 dimensional drawing may change things admittedly.

I got my book yesterday, really awesome stuff, but I feel the graphic design is all over the place... Still, a lot of amazing imagery!
It's interesting that this book brought together Val, Emiliano and Scott.... Shows how MOTU is bigger than any one person... [emoji111]🏼

Really? I would have loved to be a fly on the wall in the room with those three reluctantly collaborating together. LOL!

"Never hard feelings! Sometimes you have to laugh it off. Here are my list of favorite fan conspiracies that never seem to die (despite being incorrect/explained):"

1) mattel used cheap clear plastic on the goddess figure causing Her to fall apart

2) mattel/I hate she-Ra/women and that is why her original classics fig had a hole in her forehead.

3) oo-larr is a misspelling of Mo-larr

4) dare's appearance in a mini comic means he will be the center of the brand going forward

5) blade's swords went unpainted so mattel could make more money with him in particular

6) names on package shipper backs are hints at future figures

7) there is a secret conspiracy to keep Illumina out of the line

8) Karg appearing in star comics means mattel can do him

9) the four horsemen intended he-ro's sword to be black and mattel changed it to blue against there wishes

10)the general misinterpretation of cost and time between how far along in production a sculpt and a tool are.

11) figures are painted by machine (every figure is hand painted with a brush (usually by Chinese women with small hands)

12) uocoming reveals are held back to torture fans

Wish he would simply shut up.

He did good with MOTU, but he should be gone for good now. No reason for stupid stuff like this.

He's not getting any attention at Jakks, so he's stirring the pot at the place where he has the least detractors and the most notoriety.

We can never get a Lubic or a Karg sadly as they belong to the movie rights which Mattel do not have.

Yep, I hope we do see them some day, though. Who knows, things can change when it comes to licensing rights. I've always heard that the currents rights owners were very obstinate/wanting a lot of money for the figure movie rights, but they might be in different hands now.
