Did the new team at any point mention Toyguru? I honestly haven't been paying much attention to the whole thing but I don't think I saw any statements from them indicting him? I could very well be wrong but if I am I wouldn't mind seeing a quote.

It seems more like Scott is attempting to throw the new people under the bus rather than the other way around. Again I have only read the official press release on the subject so if something was said about Scott I must have missed it.

They didn't mention Scott by name, but they said mistakes were made by the previous folks in charge with regards to the Hsss snake form.

Do you have a quote?

Hey guys,

We’ve been reading the boards and we understand there is a lot of frustration with our favorite slithery foe, King Hssss. We get it - certain things were expected and then those things changed, which is frustrating. It is also frustrating when statements like the ones that were made regarding the Snake Hssss Torso, are put out to you, the fans, before their feasibility has been confirmed. That’s what unfortunately happened here.

I'd say they're pretty much putting the blame on Toy Guru with that statement.

At least Scott would of honored his statement to deliver the torso that was promised if you bought the 2015 Sub.It was costed in!

I hadn't read that. Interesting. I am enjoying this for the record. It's very interesting to try to figure out what the hell is going on half the time. It's like a drama puzzle.

If the snake torso coming with a future sub figure wasn't "FEASABLE", then why didn't anyone from Mattel make a state of the union address and let all the fans know that the promise made by Scott was not going to happen back in 2014? LOL!

Everyone at Mattel knew that Scott told fans more than once that the snake torso was coming with a sub figure, why do they wait until JULY 2015 to basically tell everyone that this promise was premature? Sure, let's keep the sub holders thinking they are going to get it, then we'll drop the bomb on them after we sell the 2016 subs. In other words, if they ALWAYS knew it wasn't "FEASABLE" why not nip it in the bud earlier in the year?

The lame excuses they are giving people simply aren't thought out very well. If your going to lie, you gotta be good at it or don't do it at all. :)

POWERCON EXCLUSIVES for NON ATTENDEES:

From THE SHADOW:

"Can’t attend the show but still want to obtain these exclusives?

Fans who are unable to attend the show may purchase a special non-attendee merchandise access pass which will allow the holder to purchase up to one of each exclusive at the prices listed above PLUS shipping and handling which will be flat rates for domestic and international fans. Please note that we can't control the price of shipping, especially the high cost of international shipping. Specific pricing on the exclusives with the shipping/handling included will be provided on August 15.

As a non-attendee merchandise access pass holder, you will also receive a physical merchandise access pass badge as a souvenir with your figures for supporting the convention, as well as a copy of the convention’s program and all ticket pre-order incentive items. Non-attendees will not be eligible for Power-Con t-shirt pre-orders.

Non-attendee merchandise access pass: $25

Note to all: The exclusive Masters of the Universe Classics figures are sold as-in with no returns or exchanges. All sales are final."

Camo Khan: $45

red minicomic Beast Man: $45

green minicomic Granamyr: $100

Power-Con 2016 Tickets and Exclusives Information

So basically, on top of the exclusive figure price, you will need to pay an additional $25. As I understand this, say you want Camo Khan, you will need to pay $70 plus shipping. LOL! If you wanted all three exclusives, it would still be just an additional $25.

Not that I am interested in supporting PowerCon or being gouged with any of the figures, I wonder if they will make it so non .borg members will be able to purchase the figures.

Yeah $45 is pretty insane for Beast Man and KK. As far as I know, all other regular figure con exclusives (NYCC, SDCC) were regular retail price at the time. For example, Strobo, TOD Sorceress, Hordak, Goat Man etc...

I am interested in the green repaint granamyr, but not should I want to pay $100+ $25+ shipping for him

Those weren't PowerCon exclusives, they were later sold on MattyCollector as well. AFAIK, these are going to be the first figures exclusive to one Con, with no announced plans to sell on MattyCollector (it sounds to me like PowerCon is going to be handling all the distribution, so I wouldn't expect it to ever show up on MattyCollector).

Really, I'm just happy to get a chance to buy the figures as a non-attendee! The extra fee and these being exclusive to PowerCon is fine with me, it gives them some additional funding (which I know they've had problems with in the past - hence the last PowerCon being canceled). Hopefully they don't sell out too quickly. I must have that red Beast Man!

First quick photo of my custom Stratos. Used the 200x gauntlets, hands, feet, and loincloth and an unflocked moss man head with custom paint apps on the whole figure.

I'll post some better pics later.

Whether non-attendees have a chance to purchase them remains to be seen. They will be available for sale only to attendees during the first three hours of the sale.

I really don't think there is a genuine desire to cater to the non attendees, It's all just to avoid ill will from fans who think they have a chance to get them, but will ultimately miss out on them. Limited run or not, I think they are going to tell non attendees they were sold out before they even get a chance to buy them, even though they really aren't. Any left overs (if any) will be sold on ebay at a mark up later once the illusion of rarity is in place.

I mean let's face it, before the backlash from fans, Val had no intention of doing anything for the people not going to PowerCon, and basically told everyone they're poop out of luck, or find a friend who's going to get them for you. If they really cared about non attendees, this plan would have been implemented from the start, and it would be legitimate, not damage control.

I think the only actual desire is to use MOTUC collectors to fund Power-Con and make the event profitable for the organizers.

Originally, the PowerCon lure was the exclusive figures themselves.

NOW, it's the figures AND the ability for attendees to buy 3 of each, where as non attendees (who will probably not actually get a real shot at these) are told they can only buy 1 of each. It's a lure because many people will be inclined to buy 3 of each, knowing they will make a nice chunk of change selling them on ebay for 10 times what they paid,

PowerCon can't be too popular when they need 3 figures to draw people to the event.

I wonder how many people know about the times when Val was mistreating, yelling at, and disrespecting volunteers for the show, among other examples of why most people probably wouldn't want to be bothered going.

They say the exclusive figures wouldn't exist if not for PowerCon, but realistically PowerCon would have a smaller number of attendees if not for the exclusive figures.
