And what experience did Bush have? Following Sr. to work everyday and watching his pops construct plans to kill Iraqis? What president in the past 20 years has had ANY valid experience????

Point being, ANYONE could out do Bush at this moment.
Hey Chuckles, not everyone in this country is as Anti-Bush as you would like to believe. The left likes to point out Palins lack of experience, but refuse to accepts she has more then the Obamessiah.

Dude! When you see the antichirst you will KNOW he's the antichrist! Your theories are too much for me man! Please stop!

OK, warrioe is now in this thread. We really need the lockdown now. Please?

Chuckles? I send you an invitation to go make love to your hand. You're the only h o m o here that seems to be the Bush supporter. I haven't seen a single one in MANY years!

How can one's religious stance not have any effect on their moral decisions or not have an effect in such important decisions as appointing justices to the Supreme Court? We are discussing the Matt Damon interview and you keep throwing Obama into this. Yes, I get your point, do you get mine? :duh

Again, I hate these political based threads because everyone looks through their red or blue tinted glasses and very few people try to see the big picture. I'm just counting down the hours until Dave locks this thread down too…

I look at this a completely different way. I don't think it is wise to chose a president if they have to have religion to make a coscientious (sp?) choice. I am a die-hard athiest, and my own opinion is that it is the height of contradiction to have a requirement in the Constitution for a separation of church and state, but the voters still hang largely on religion. I firmly believe that we all need to stop rendering our votes based on our individual pet political subjects and start demanding a President who will be the most likely to work toward uniting this country and truely demanding that our 2 major political parties (edit - not unite, that is impossible, but cooperate with the good of the country at the center of the decisions, not partisan ideals).

And niether of our major candidiates is that person. Both Obama AND McCain have easily shown that they are running head-long and at full speed toward the partisan politics that have been the bane of political improvement in this country since it's beginning. And BOTH of their choices in running mates are laughable.

And I am getting tired of political threads getting shut down when there is no animosity being hurled in them. We have threads about action figures that have more angst than some of the locked political threads and are allowed to continue.

I agree with EVERY single word Damon just said. And Hoodonit... It is NOT an attack at the Repub party at all. It's just insane on so many levels that McCain chose her. If he had chosen someone a little less crazy... wouldn't be an issue. I would still support Obama, but would at least respect McCain's VP pick.

But picking Palin seems like the most insane thing I have ever witnessed in politics. Like Damon, I don't want to even fathom a lady like her with that much power...

Yes i do.

Yes!

It's the USA(freedom). It's my job as a parent to do the best i can. You don't ban books and then fire the librarian when you don't get your way....In this "Free country"

Weak sauce.
Well then thats the difference between you and I. I grew up in an age where I got swatted at school when I was bad. If I acted up at a neighbors house, I would get it there and at home. Point being is that, you as a parent are not always there and sometimes it does take a village to raise children. I can't believe you wouldn't mind your daughter reading books about bestiality if given the chance.

George Bush was the governor of Texas, elected for 2 terms.

Hell, he's mister automatic rifle... Super Red Righty guy... He probably still has the W sticker on the back of his truck. :horror

(playful ribbing) :peace

My daughter wouldn't that's the point. The tone is set at home. We can't always be there to protect.

This is a free country, and what she tried to do goes against that.

That's my point as well. The fact that she tried to ban books AT ALL shows that she has tendencies to let her own beliefs dictate policy. I honestly think she would try even more if she were President or even VP... if McCain lives long enough.

And with her charisma, it will happen sadly. So many sheep in this country.

She really is crazy it seems

Crazy huh? She's crazy to you because you're a big time self professed Liberal. She has fired up the Republican Party the most it's been since Reagan. She is pro-religion, anti-abortion, pro-gun, pro-family, a good solid Conservative. And she is going to cost the Democrats the election come Nov. That is the biggest reason the Pro-Obamessiah is peeved at John McCain. Because she stole Obamessiahs spotlight.

Don't misunderstand me, I am with you on this. As a Christmas-Easter church-goer, I don't want anyone too religious in the White House, no matter the denomination. That's why I want to know Palin's stance.

THAT is why I don't like her. Family values are fine, Conservative values are fine too... I know plenty of Conservatives that are great people. I'm not so Liberal that it would bother me if someone were about those things.

The BIG issue is that she is religious to the point of being almost Evangelical. Religion does NOT belong in politics. Our country was started by people who wanted to no longer be religiously oppressed. So now, we decree that if you are not living up to Christian values, you are wrong? That's not very American in my book.

Anti abortion is another thing.... it's unconstitutional and I won't stand for it.

Pro Gun... I don't really care. Having a shotgun is one thing... having an AR-15 is another. :banghead

Well i had fun before the lock.(i think people needed to see this)

Down with Palin!!!!!!

And for the rest of the Republican's Sweeping generalizations, i'm not a Democrat!!!

I though you Liberals were all about acceptance. You say ^^^^ like it's a bad thing. Is Chuckles a bad word in Canada? There are more Bush supporters on here then you think, but I don't really care, I will still contiue my support for him even if I was the only one on here.

so with all this talk about a "free country" I'm guessing everyone agrees there should be no ban on any type of weapon?...since it's a free country and all.

She is...pro-family...

I just thought it was funny that you pointed this out. I would love to see ANYONE run or be in office somewhere who is actually anti-family. :lol

As far as politics go, I am a believer of the South Park way of thinking. This election is between a giant douche and a turd sandwich.
