actually, I was thinking " what am I doing arguing with this clown for?" lol

Lol? I'm clearly more intelligent than you. Well at least we can agree that Batman is the best comic inspired hero of all time, right? Good to see you have taste there son.

The DC Universe doesn't deserve Batman. Batman shouldn't be included with the Justice League, the character would never want to work with them. Batman shouldn't live in the same world as Superman and company, he is too realistic compared to them. Batman shouldn't be in this DC Comics section, he should have his own.

Can we all just agree to disagree and move on with our lives? As Seditionary stated this is an age old argument which clearly has no right answer. Love Marvel? great! Love DC? great! now let's get back on topic here and discuss how awesome Donna looks! :love

Here, here!!!

Both are great!! :banana

Guy Gardner > Batman

He got lucky that one time.

I still remember reading that in the parking lot of 7Eleven back in 87 or 88...I think.

I loved Giffen and De Matteis run on JL. :D

I've read comics and I got to admit, they're pretty lame. I know they're the true source for this stuff but I just can't get into them.

Elseworlds! Dreamworlds! Clones! Alternate Dimensions! Resurrections! Infinite Worlds!

STUPID!

Then why are you posting in a thread that is dedicated to a line of figures based on an entire comic book universe? If you don't like comic books but only movies based on them, post in the DK threads.

Posting here makes no sense but neither do you so maybe it does make sense.

If you love those stories that are examples that I listed, you're the narrow minded idiot. THE SPIDER-MAN CLONE SAGA! SUPERMAN DIED AND WAS RESURRECTED! BATMAN'S MURDERED BY A MYSTICAL BEING IN A WORLD HE SHOULDN'T EVEN BE APART OF!

Yeah I said they're lame and they are. The comics have served their purpose now they can just rot . . . IN MY OPINION (which is usually fact).

Without those comics, there would be no stories for Hollywood to rip off to make all of those movies from. The Joker isn't somebody that Heath Ledger invented.

Opinions can't be fact. It's a contradiction in terms.

So you are wrong. :monkey3 And that is a fact.

I haven't been here on these boards too long but I'm pretty sure this statement wins as the dumbest, most narrow minded statement I've read here so far! Congrats bro!

I disagree 1,000% Incurable Collector. :tap

This is the dumbest statement:

Yeah, I know the dude's being difficult for sake of being difficult...but there are definitely some really awesome comics out there. It's impossible to read them all, but unfortunately real ^^^^ ones often get very popular. Sometimes you have to dig!

One man's trash is another man's treasure either way.

Mattel considers it a collectible line too. Their target customer for this line IS collectors. They confirmed it even at SDCC. We'd never even be getting these kind of characters if it wasn't. We'd be stuck with about 100 Batman and Superman figures by now.
:(

Actually, this is a new position they've taken this year. I was also at SDCC this year...and the year before that...and the year before that. And Mattel has always said that they were trying to make this line appeal to BOTH collectors and kids/parents. And they always made it clear that kids/parents spend more money on their boys toys than adult collectors.

What appears to have shattered this whole myth for them is when almost all the retailers stopped buying and carrying DCUCs during their little lead paint scare and the line was almost completly supported by adult collectors through online etailers like BBTS, CSCs, and EE. After that, how could they come back to SDCC and repeat the same ole crap that we all knew for awhile?

My God, I couldn't agree more with this beautiful statement :monkey2

Nothing more realistic than a millionaire punching crooks while wearing black, leather undies.

All hail the Bat-man!! Toma Ray Bat-man!!

"AHHHH *sniffle*, I can't handle someone *sniffle* insulting my beloved *sniffle* comic boooooooks!" <pushes glasses up>

WAAAAHHHH

Why am I here? Because I like Batman. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe The Joker, Batman, and Man-Bat are included in this wave and that there are several Batman characters featured in this LINE. So that's why I post here.

Oh and of course your cliched thinking would lead you to believe that I currently found Batman because of The Dark Knight.

WRONG.

I've been with the thing since I was old enough to walk. I've read comic books and as I previously stated, they're the source for all this and should be respected. I understand that Ledger didn't create the character and I never even stated that his interpretation was my favorite. I've seen basically every interpretation and while his is one of my favorites I still enjoy the BTAS Hamill Joker and B89 Nicholson Joker.

Without those comics, there would be no stories for Hollywood to rip off to make all of those movies from.

Uhhhhhh, I said that a few posts up. I appreciate comics only for the simple fact that they inspired these better films, cartoons and other entertainment.

Batman: The Animated Series, Batman, Batman Begins, and The Dark Knight are the cream of the crop in my opinion. Sure others may feel differently but this is my opinion, which, in my mind IS fact. You can't tell me any differently just like I can't tell you.

Sure, some comics are fantastic but they are usually one shot graphic novels. I love Watchmen, Batman: Year One, the animated Batman Adventures comics, and a few of the movie comic adaptions but that's a small percentage. The rest is utter crap, fillers if you will. I appreciate comics for what they are, what they have given us and evolved into but I'd be lying to myself if I said that they were the best medium. Sure they were the inspiration for some of these other things. Examples like Batman: Year One influencing Batman Begins and The Man Who Laughs
with the The Dark Knight. It's the junkie, cheap, repeated monthly issues that I have a problem with. I know I don't like them because I've GIVEN them a chance.

I could see if I was a new enthusiast but I've been following this comic stuff for years. It's crap, I don't like it. I know the history of these characters and I can't get past how ridiculous some of the stories are, Batman included.

Sorry that I'm offending you hardcore comic fans but I don't like them. If you're going to say that my views towards a particular subject are stupid then expect me to jump back with reasons why I think the particular mediums suck.

I see (in order of importance) Riddler, Scarcrow, Lex Luthor, Bizzaro, Solomon Grundy and Gorrila Grodd.

For some reason the names of those other "characters" slip my mind at the moment.

well, allow me to help unslip your mind...sinestro, capt. cold, black manta, braniac, and giganta

Ah, that's better.

I sure hear alot of stories about Mr. Cold warming (no pun intended) the pegs. I wonder why he doesn't sell?

i know what you are getting at...and it might be true in his case..however, besides the height of the figure, it is a great action figure all around.

Hopefully they make a new green and red Robin, preferably ^^^^ Grayson with some pants.

Difabio is 100% right. DC is moronic and I couldn't get into them if I tried. Marvel stories are 100% better. Aside from batman and his rogues gallery and watchmen, the entire DC corporation should go under. I hate all those characters. Blue beetle, flash, green latern, etc. ALL poorly written sci fi pulp trash. I hope we never see movies of them either. Believe me I've tried to read the comics...they just suck. They tread into a level of nerdiness I'd like to not associate myself with. DC Nerds are among the sweatiest ,creepiest kind. Marvel is pretty universal I think. Who doesnt love the X men and Hulk etc? But DC...aside from batman superman...you're looking at a bunch of hidious second stringers and poor art. Aside from Bruce Timm, Mignola and Alex Ross, all the art in the DC comics is also horrible.

So why am I posting in the DCU thread? Line regardless there's some good figures. The joker. Manbat. Riddler. Basically...BATMAN characters.

BBTS is one of the few places that I pre-order, because they don't charge cancellation fees, and the Pile Of Loot is great. Up until the wave 9 issue, I hadn't heard many issues with them. Cornerstore Comics usually has these figures up for pre-order as well, though they have issues. . .serious issues.

So you've been following "crap" since you've been able to walk?

Well I'll agree with the BTAS part. I love the DCAU, all of it not just Batman, and worship the ground Bruce Timm walks on. :bow

He takes all the good parts of the DCU and makes them 100Xs better.

Dark Knight was great too.

Ugh...opinion can't be fact. It's impossible. :bangheadYou can have an opinion but that doesn't make it fact. 2 completely different things.

First I never said you were stupid. You're just ill-informed. :monkey3

Here's the real kicker: I DON"T EVEN BUY MONTHLY COMICS ANY MORE. :lol

I pick up TPBs but that's it.

At the current time, DC and Marvel both suck IMO. The whole Crisis/52/One year Later stuff is way too confusing. Marvel is just as bad with all of the Civil War/Invasion/Reign garbage. Why is Marvel turning Osborn into Lex Luthor?

I never said that DC's monthy comics were great or did I ever defend the books themselves. You made that assumption yourself.

My point was that there is much more to the DC Universe than Batman. It's full of tons of other great heroes and villains. That was my only point. Batman is without a doubt, DC's #1 guy. That's a no-brainer.
