Time to give up on the hunt and move exclusively to online orders and pre-orders, I think. Hunting is a waste of time and energy, in my experience.

yeah, I just ordered wave 12 - 15 at bbts. My concern is the survival of the line in general though. I know Mattel manages to keep MOTU around somehow almost exclusively with an online presence but I don't know that DCUC will have the same longevity.

What do Blammoids do?

Exactly.

My guess is the price on these will continue to increase till they reach $20 each and then they will magically become Matty exclusives. They will ditch the C&Cs and just sell those as deluxe figures like the gorilla guy from MotuC.

Amen to that...

The line will survive. It has thus far. Since wave 2, the easiest way to find these were to just order them from the online etailers. As a matter of fact, when Mattel had that lead paint scare, it was the online etailers that keep this line going as most brick and mortars hardly carried any of these for almost a year. Wave 5 was the only one showing up on the shelf and WM barely ordered enough to satisfy the weakest market demands.

Shame that for all their (etailers) support, now Mattel is directly competing with them by offering the waves online at the same time...guess its true what they say, "No good deed goes unpunished."

I think (and hope) that online sales alone will keep this line afloat. It seems a huge hit with collectors and Toyguru said something to the effect of "The line is paying for itself" because of the heavy re-use of parts. I, too, am done hunting. Although I ordered wave 12 from Cornerstorecomics and haven't heard anything from them at all, which now has me a bit worried...

You should give them a call, they have had them in stock for the last three weeks. Maybe they misplaced your order. They are very good at customer service, I have no idea what could have happened.

Luis

I sent them an e-mail on Tuesday and I'm trying to be patient for a response, given that it usually takes a business 48 hours to respond. If I don't hear anything today I'll try and call tomorrow...

EDIT: Got Scarecrow in the mail today. WOW. What an awesome representation of the character. The patches, the stitches, the face and articulation really sell this one and it makes me wish I hadn't taken so long to track one down. He really has a BTAS feel to him and the scythe fits snugly in his fist (Take that, Nightwing!!!) and the little skull bomb is a GREAT touch. He fits in seamlessly butting up against my Bat-villains and my (nearly complete sans Cheetah and Toyman) Legion of Doom!

Scarecrow is the most under rated DCSH figure. He peg warmed for years, heck I think he is still around at some ToysRUss! I wouldn't mind a new one though to go with a spandex Riddler to get more of their LoD looks.

I hope not. This is the main reason I can't keep my enthusiasm for the MOTU Classics line. I feel so ripped off paying 32.00 for one figure because I have to pay for shipping for each figure. It's ridiculous. I've just spent 300.00 for 9 figures. That's almost 2 figures of excellent quality Hot Toys and almost 3 waves of DCUC. If they go that same route, it will kill the line for me for sure.

They (Mattel) will only be able to keep this business model up until they ever get anything to retail. The MOTU market is SOOOOO starved of any product that this gouge and sell tactic has been very successful for them. If/when the MOTU movie ever sees the light of day and they are able to get major brick and mortars on the band wagon to selling MOTU stuff in the stores, the MC collector sales will take a hit.

I don't think they have wave 12 in stock...not exactly. I believe they, like BBTS, recieved some early full cases that went out to fill some orders. They both recieved partial solid case orders from Mattel and are awaiting the remainder of the balance from the same ship that will be delivering the Mattycollector solid cases to be sold in a couple weeks.

Thomas is a pretty straight up guy and your order is probably safe. I know he tends to post a lot over on Fwoosh and sometimes you can find direct info on their page. So check those places while you wait for a response...probably will come from Anna. Or you can call and ask for Rich, he'll give you the skinny.

Just picked up the Gotham City 5 pack from a local Walmart. When I was at a TRU though, I saw a DCUC Batman that was labeled at an exclusive. Has anyone else found seen this figure?

Yeah, TRU is getting whole cases of the black & grey Batman with the bat instead of the oval. I know he's just a repaint, but he's awesome.

Thanks everyone for the advice with CSC, I intend to call them later today... friggin' time difference...

EDIT: They said my set of wave 12 shipped Tuesday!!!! CANNOT WAIT!!!!

OH NO!

It's a slippery slope I know. But I've just pulled the trigger and got a Superman & Black'n'Grey Batman off ebay!

And I know, just know this means I'll have to try round out a Justice League at least... with Cyborg... And Maybe a legion of Doom!.. Frick!

MWAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Another convert.

That's how it starts, Grange... I did the same thing when I picked up Flash... then Batman... then Green Lantern... and it hasn't stopped. There's three toy lines I get: 1/6 (Sideshow Joes/Hot Toys), Transformers, and THESE. They'll take over your life if you're not careful...

Just beat her to it and off her! :lol

These really are great figures though! I'd say just pick up some favorite characters, but that is how we all started out! ;)

I can see how it'll go... pick up a couple Batmans, gotta have some villains to go with him, oh I need Superman too, some villains for him, etc. etc.

Just pick up the Walmart 5 pack, at 50.00 each the figures will cost you 10 per. Unless they change the price on that too.
Here are my latest acquisitions from E-bay. The atom figure was for 20.00 free shipping. Guy had 5 for sale and he was in HK so I was kinda worried but he came through, no problem. Azrael was for 15 total. and Amazo for 22 total. All I need now is the Eradicator figure and I will have wave 5 without the BAF. Yippee! Hmmm, if I recall B-munch had a Metallo in his collection....
