It is a shame that a lot of people lost interest on this line after wave 1 because of poor circulation by walmart and Mattel. I was lucky enough to find online retailers that did the pre-order on waves. Otherwise, I just might be kicking myself.

Very seriously thinking of cashing out on this line. Selling them all and buying a Hot Toys figure or something with the money. Don't display them, not really into the 6 inch plastic toys anymore. . .decisions, decisions. . .

I've been trying to get a Robin from Wave 3. Hard to find a complete (I don't care if it's loose or boxed--I just want the accessories) one at a decent price.

New Rumor over at Fwoosh/RTM. New 5 pack:

-Batman (possibly wave 1 without black on mask)
-Joker (trenchcoat version)
-Penguin (Superpowers colors)
-Riddler (Spanex outfit)
-Robin (D ick Grayson)

Sounds plausible to me based on the previous 5 packs and the amount of reuse. The first pack was all repaints with 1 new Lex Luthor. The GL pack is 1 new figure with at least 1-2 new headed figures. This set would be no completely new figures since Robin could use plent of previously used parts (Spectre legs anyone?). But you would have at least a new head for him and most likey Riddler (hatless) and Joker (hat) too.

Sounds plausible, but why a ____ Grayson Robin in the DCUC set? I'd be more interested in a Damian Robin.

Hell, I want a Detective Riddler, rather than Riddler Classic!

Yeah, seems Mr. Nigma has turned over a new leaf lately and is using his intellect to solve crimes. He's figures out that Bats is not Bruce so the thrill of leaving clues is gone since there's no one with the smarts to solve his riddles. He's also keeping great company and is currently "working" with Catwoman, Harley and Ivy.

Didn't mattel say that any 5 pack would have 2 new and 3 old? I thought they meant 2 new characters. Even though Tomar Re is just a re-paint, Gardner has a lot of new sculpt areas. That list does have the core Batman group that any beginner would love.

Karamazov - It's a shame you want out. My thoughts are if you don't display them it is easy to forget how cool this line is. I love this line. It's pretty much the final collection for DC for me because of the characters that has been out. Maybe you should display them in their boxes before you finally put it up for sale and see if the interest grows back. Once you sell your collection it will be a b*$#h to get back in.

Hey Amused, I do know they are great toys. And you are right, whenever I pull out that Flash or Superman, it reminds me how awesome they look. In fact, as many have said before, these are the pretty close to being idealized versions of what Super Powers toys from my childhood could have been.

However, I have limited space, and my 1/6 scale figures and Minimates/Kubricks really dominate my collection right now. Sometimes we've got to make trade-offs in life. I do really dig them, but if I'm not going to find the space to display them, maybe I should just move on and use the funds to support one of my other addictions.

Wow. I guess I have really been out of the loop lately. I thought I was up to date on most characters with Blackest Night and all, but I guess I was wrong.

So how does his look differ now?

That would be a shot in the dark indeed. Just because he's the first, doesn't mean he's the best. In fact, they've turned to taking Tim Drake's appearance and throwing Richard's (board won't let me say his nickname) name on HIM these days. DC has some bias towards him I've never understood.

But my point was: there are SO many figures of him already--why does he deserve another, especially when he's long-gone as Robin, since-gone as Nightwing, and now in Batman's cowl?

Re: Nigma. Depends on who's drawing him, but he's usually coloured a little darker green these days. His undershirt is definitely darker, and he's got a more...dark/noir-inspired feel to him. I haven't compared him to the old one...but I was just saying that I'd rather have a more relevant-to-the-current-universe (Like Damian Wayne, whose previous figure from the Batman and Son line was pretty pitiful) version of a character if they're going to be releasing things.

Karamov - I tell you if I can afford to get more Hot toys figures I would probably choose that, too. I know what you mean by space being a premium, too. Hopefully, you can get a decent price for your collection.

Like I said before, it's the first version, and the most well known version. Plus it was the Super Powers look, which we were pretty much guaranteed to get at some point. So, he deserves it for those reasons. Just because it isn't the version you like the best doesn't mean it is a bad choice.

If that is the case, then Riddler in his Spandex suit would make the most sense to do.

I found some DC VS Motu packs at my toys r us along with tons of toys r us exclusive batmans. They also had a blue beetle with a toys r us exclusive sticker on it?!?! I didn't hear anything about this (maybe someone mistakenly put the sticker on it. It had the BAF piece with it. Has anyone else heard about this?

Is it the Old Beetle? I think the older waves are being re-released again with TRU, though that is just pure speculation. I saw Wave 9 Dead shot with the TRU sticker on it..

Almost finished my custom Parallax. The paintjob is not the cleanest but for a few hours work I am happy with it. I just wish I could have pushed his cape back a little more but it was hard to put in place because of the limited shoulder space and trying not to puncture the shoulder ball. Overall, it was a quick and easy custom.
