Re: Mattel ghostbusters conversion step by step

Jesus these figures are so cool that i'm starting to feel the necesity of making them a background or like a dio to display them...

Great work Astro!:banana

Speaking of, has anyone else noticed that the side of the box Ray came in seems to have one part of a picture of the Gozer rooftop set from GB1. I wonder if all four figures put together will create a large background to display them infront of.

That belt is the the one I use but painted it the gray color. DiD is a great company and I think they are really under rated. Ill have to keep a look out for those boots!

yeah the belts are more grey aint they in the movie, as appose to the cream/tan colour they originaly are in 1/6 scale.

and yeah those boots are cool. ive seen a couple of pairs ilike abit more but those are still cool!!

Re: Mattel ghostbusters conversion step by step

That's it, I'm watching Ghostbusters tonight, it's been too long. Great work by everyone.

Re: Mattel ghostbusters conversion step by step

Those DiD boots are the closest I've seen so far to the ones the guys wore in the movie. Side zippers would hardly be that noticeable anyway. Good find Kuzeh!

Very true, but good luck finding four sets of them from one limited figure :) Not impossible but definitely difficult.

In this case, I think most of us will be better off finding standalone boots offered by a company that sells them straight up, like Newline. At least then you stand a better chance of being able to buy a large enough quantity.

I used a watered down light gray paint and did about 3 washes. Then I painted the hardware black. The buckles break all the time on those belts so I usually take the rubber ones off the rubber belts :D

It probably would be pretty tough to find four sets of those boots for sale loose. It certainly would take some good timing, good luck, and a bit of cash, no doubt about it.

I have a couple of sets of New Line WW2 German Fallschirmjäger front lace jump boots coming that look pretty close and are very nice looking boots, too. But I'll still be on the lookout for some of those Che boots, unless I can find something comparable and easier to get. :D

Re: Mattel ghostbusters conversion step by step

The WWII boots is what I used and I think they look fantastic. They are a pain in the ass though to lace lol.
