You've heard of May 4th? Well help celebrate, and support, May 19th Prequel Appreciating Day!

Before May 19:

1. Join the Star Wars Prequel Appreciation Day event page on Facebook and send invites to your friends:

https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=1 ... 137&ref=mf

2. Promote it on Twitter using the tag #swprequelappreciationday.

3. Promote it on any other social networking site you use (i.e. LiveJournal, MySpace, Ning, etc.).

On May 19:

1. Post your favorite lines from the flicks or your favorite memories of 1998-2005 on your blog, Facebook, LiveJournal, or Twitter account.

2. Watch the prequel trilogy, or heck, why not all 6? They’re all awesome. Throw in some Clone Wars too. (Yes, Clone Wars counts!)

3. Put on your favorite old Darth Maul tee or have your kids dress up as their fave Clone Wars characters.

4. Write some meta or fan fiction.

5. Come up with cool icons, fan art, and other graphics.

6. Have a party.

7. Whatever else you can think of to celebrate Eps I-III.

Send pics or screencaps of your Prequel Appreciation Day to [email protected] and the Star Wars Prequel Appreciation Society will post ‘em.

It’s time to show the world we can’t imagine a Star Wars without podracing, Padme’s vast wardrobe, clones, Count Dooku, Jango Fett, Watto, an angsty Anakin, a young Obi-Wan, good ol’ Jar Jar, or General Grievious. a flame war, I see.

Watch the OT elitists will feel compelled to pop in here with their gay "Pay attention to me!" posts. :lol

I'd be into this but I don't do Facebook or Twitter. But, I was already throwing a party (GF thinks it's for her birthday :lol) so, I'll send pics.

3. Put on your favorite old Darth Maul tee or have your kids dress up as their fave Clone Wars characters.

Done and done. It'll be no different than usual. I have about twenty Maul shirts, and typically wear one about three days out of the week. Yes, I am that much of a dork.

Why do you think people that like OT are "Elitists"? I love star wars..and im no elitist...but im not retarded either..and the prequels were bad movies..if they had no link to star wars and were rating on thier own...they were REAL BAD. I still watched them and enjoyed them...but those prequels are a blackeye on the OT..and if you think they are anywhere near as good or innovative as far as movie's go..then you are just in denial.

How many ____ing days does Star Wars need? I've heard of May 4th with its wonderful "May the 4th Be With You" tagline, May 5th with "Celebrate the Dark Lord of the 5th", of course May 25th....enough already. If the prequels were so appreciated then they'd be celebrated as part of the saga on whatever day is decided upon for the "Star Wars Day". Separating them out even as a sign of appreciation only breeds and fuels the argument between OT purists and PT apologists.

(had to take a little swipe at the end ;))

this prequel day stuff is BS, why not have a general, all-encompassing Star Wars day?

The clone wars series/movie does not count as prequels in my book by the way. :lecture

THIS is exactly what I'm talking about. There were plenty of elements in the OT to make it just as "bad" as the prequels but you elitists are so blind you can't see the forest for the trees.

Come on, guys, who doesn't want to have a Yoda day, Vader Day, Luke Day, Leia Day, Stormtrooper Day, Clone Trooper Day, Ep 3 Clone Trooper Day, Han Day, Tauntaun Day, Fetts Day, Anakin Day, Slave Leia Day, Snow Wompa Day, George Day, Lucas Day and Richard Simmons Day?

But, seriously, as fans, I think we are constantly celebrating SW, OT or PT on a daily basis by being here, dicussing, sharing and buying SW stuff!

For me, I like to just watch the movies without thinking too much and this is why I like both trilogies.

(.....you elitists are so blind you can't see the forest for the trees.) Damn, this is a good line!

Return of the Jedi was ever bit as "bad" as the prequels. It's nothing but muppets. The Luke/Vader/Emperor scenes are all that save it. But since it is OT it gets a pass.

Revenge of the Sith trumps it with ease.

I like Star Wars. PT+OT=SW

So what? Are you now the chief defender of the faith :lol

There is nothing elite about being right, or having superior/discerning taste... oh wait :panic:
