there is a strange sense of parallelism occurring within this thread to the very subject that we are discussing... the freedoms that disappear while no one is looking... due process... magna carta... removed by the current administration...

obviously, passions will flare as the future of this nation is discussed... we all want the best for the country but have never been worst served by the media...

I'd say its the current leadership thats failed to serve the country....cant blame the media for calling them on it.

I find it alittle ironic that someone who doesn't want sex ed taught in schools, is all about family values, and from what I hear (I haven't looked it up) is against birth control for teens, that her daughter is now 5 months pregnant and is going to get married at the age of 17. Hopefully the girl wants to get married and not being forced to, just to save face. I would wait till I got out of high school or even college.

Just a side note on all of this 2nd amendment stuff-- Correct if I'm wrong, and I'm in a country that has gun registration that keeps many firearms (especially automatic weapons) from getting into the wrong hands, but wasn't the right to bear arms put into your constitution so that you could protect yourself versus any further attacks/invasions from the redcoats?... Are you guys still worried about another British Invasion not involving the Beatles?

This is totally true. I have no problem with the second amendment and think we should have it but just do better with making sure the crazies don't get the automatic weapons.

No you can't, but it's hard to talk about morality and the family when you didn't instill in your daughter the sense that "no sex before marriage" or even just "safe sex" is important... Just playing devil's advocate-- I wonder how it'll play in the more "red states" even though it seems like the really conservative republicans applauded the choice.

This is getting kind of pathetic, don't you think? So the liberal mantra for the day now is to punish the parents for the sins of the child? It doesn't matter how hard parents try to teach their children correct principles, some children aren't going to follow them.

You are aware that several studies show that people who watch The Daily Show are significantly more informed about current events than people who watch cable news channels and network news broadcasts, right?
