Wear your seat belt, wear a motorcycle helmet. Now I do both because I feel that they do save live but there's MR. Democrat trying to guide peoples lives by coming up with these laws. Maybe one day they will try and ban something near and dear to your heart. Then you will see what I am talking about. Sorry for the rant but living in California sometimes feels like living behind enemy lines. You are not legally allowed to assault people. Weapons designed for assault have no legal function. There are literally hundreds of weapons designed for defense and sport.



It does not grant us the right to unrestricted ownership and it says nothing about firearms.



Of course I never said that. It's very tedious having a conversation with someone who blatantly lies and distorts. I have been very open about my support for the second amendment and private gun ownership.

You don't say that assault is illegal, who would have ever thought it. Lets spell this out for you. Ordinary baseball bat. Play ball with is ok. Defend against someone in house makes it a weapons. Hit someone over the head with it and steal from them makes it assault with a deadly weapon. Knife, peel potatoes with it, ok. Use it to stab would be attacker raping wife equals a weapon. Using it to stab someone to steal from them equals assault with a deadly weapon. AR-15, target shoot equals fun. Use it to defend my house and family from would be attackers makes it a weapon. Shooting someone to steal something, assault with a deadly weapon.

What do you mean the 2nd says nothing about firearms? What am I lying about. You said no to assault weapons and I'm waiting for a valid argument. My age? I'm 40 what about you.

Why? Where do you draw the line on the escalation of weaponry and on what logical basis? I use an extreme example because it immediately drives the point home - even gun advocates draw the line somewhere.

I think it means weapons. It doesn't say what manner of weapons those are. If you want to get into the framers' intent I'm happy limiting your right to own only the single-shot pistols and rifles that were available at the time.

You clearly agree there is a limit to what weapons a private citizen can own. I've explained my reasoning on where to place that limit. I'm still waiting for yours.

Just a side note on all of this 2nd amendment stuff-- Correct if I'm wrong, and I'm in a country that has gun registration that keeps many firearms (especially automatic weapons) from getting into the wrong hands, but wasn't the right to bear arms put into your constitution so that you could protect yourself versus any further attacks/invasions from the redcoats?... Are you guys still worried about another British Invasion not involving the Beatles?

No you can't, but it's hard to talk about morality and the family when you didn't instill in your daughter the sense that "no sex before marriage" or even just "safe sex" is important... Just playing devil's advocate-- I wonder how it'll play in the more "red states" even though it seems like the really conservative republicans applauded the choice.
