Wow, those prelim 3D renderings of series 5 look amazing!

And the prototype Zombie Merle looks awesome, what a great idea for a figure and I'm glad they are doing that version! Awesome!!! Loving this line since the improvements in Series 3!

series 5 looks great well the renderings look great, and if the two pack merle and daryl are any indication, these might have the best paint apps since they started to make these, and thats a little surprising since mcfarlene is kinda known to cut back on paint apps with the later waves in a series. case and point the halo reach and halo 4 figures

There needs to be an UPDATED version of both Daryl and Rick! :lecture:

As much as I hate getting multiple variants of characters we already have, I agree. Rick and Daryl have changed a lot since their last figures' looks were current. I'm really surprised at least one of them wasn't in this wave. I kinda figured Rick would be like the Batman of this line -needing a variant in each wave. Luckily that hasn't been the case, but its odd McFarlane is ignoring all of the Daryl hype too with no new figure of him yet in this scale.

I'm really impressed they believe in the line as a whole not to have a Rick and Daryl in every wave to 'carry' the series. :clap Who'd have thought we'd have THREE Merle figures before a third Rick or Daryl? :lol

Just hope we don't have to wait too long for a Hershel figure now.

Im also suprised we have not seen more retailer exclusive variants. I bet its only a matter of time before some are announced.

yeah almost seems like they dont have enough demand for them from retailers

wow, never though we'd get tyreese this soon. cool though. glad more human characters made the line. COUGHstillwaitingforcarolCOUGH .....i wonder what characters will be in the wave after this?

i had actually sold all of mine, including wave one rick and daryl...but i think now i must rebuy them all....lol

At toyfair they supposedly said a series 2 Rick with the series 1 head would be made available as an exclusive around the time series 3 hits. :dunno

Personally I'd have liked a series 1 Rick body with the series 2 head for the classic Sherriff look if they are going to do 'easy' variants like that.

I'd like to see a new Rick with the improved articulation in his current season 3-4 look. Not a fan of them combining the old figure molds, especially since they are inferior to what McFarlane is doing with the line now.

But if it's rumored to be an exclusive, I guess that's one way to get a Rick figure released and work on a new one for a future series.

As for Daryl, I figure the 10" version factored into no new Daryl figure being in the 5" line. I'm sure eventually they will do a new 5" Daryl, but until then, the 10" Daryl and the re-release in the two pack, will tide most fans over.

It just hit me, with the amount of people turned zombie in this series, i think it would be cool if they released a full wave of zombie turned character,

Uh, Shane and Merle? :dunno Great big wave right there, especially with one of them already being in a series.

Most of the show's characters DON'T turn into zombies. They usually get taken care of before then. Shane was the big reveal that they are all infected and Merle turned because that's how sick the Governor is. Dale, Andrea, Laurie, T-Dog, etc all died before turning into zombies.

It would be a decent idea if there were just more characters that actually got to zombiefy. So in that sense, its almost an honor to get to play a Walker after your character dies because its a rare thing.

There was also Amy, Andrea's sister. She turned while Andrea sat there in shock and despair holding her for hours.

But your right, beyond those three, there aren't that many main characters who we have seen turn.

I would like to see a Zombie Shane though, that would be great, but hopefully we get an updated Shane before a Zombie Shane.

How could anyone forget about Sophia? How about Penny? Thats a solid wave !

Penny
Shane
Amy

I forgot about her. She lasted what, an episode? :lol

Yeah, Sophia is another major zombie they could do. I wouldn't consider her a 'main' character because of her limited screen time and time on the show, but definitely a zombie worthy of a figure. Maybe a Grimes-blow-your-head-off two pack with the little zombie girl from the opening scene of the series? :lol

Penny has a good chance of being made - they've made her in the comic series already. Hopefully if they do these little zombies they can come with some more fishtanks or something to make their small size more worthwhile. They did a great job doing that with comic Penny IMO.

Whats up with all of the little girl zombies though? I mean really? Sophia, Penny, and that teddy bear girl. Where's the little boy zombies?

I think Sophia was the most shocking turn in the series so far. That closing out Part 1 of season 2 should have slated a figure sooner.

Speaking of "character" zombies, I hope McFarlane does a 10 inch Michonne and 2 Pets. That would be the center piece of my WD collection.

But they must do something about those chains, I was tortured for over an hour to pose the "5 ones, when I try to put the chain on Michonne hand either she or the pet would fall and if they didn't and I started to try to put the other pet chain over the first.. they all fall over.

Yea I hear that. But at 10 inches, I doubt they will have a balance issue due to chain weight.

Will the 10 inch have articulation? Or will the be statues with 4 points of articulation?

Statues by the looks of Daryl. Shrinking that figure down for the 5" line would actually be a step backwards in terms of articulation. More like the first series - preposed.
