Wow! Kevin Feige has officially become woke.

https://www.ign.com/articles/doctor...-wandavision-kevin-feige-benedict-cumberbatch

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed to Rolling Stone that there were originally plans for Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange to make an appearance in the season finale, but decided that writing the character out would better serve the show.
"Some people might say, ‘Oh, it would’ve been so cool to see Doctor Strange,'" Feige said. “But it would have taken away from Wanda, which is what we didn’t want to do. We didn’t want the end of the show to be commoditized to go to the next movie — here’s the white guy, ‘Let me show you how power works.'"

:horror :slap

I love when nobody is talking about a show, so the filmmakers themselves have to start a new conversation to goose it up into 'trending'... :lol

That s such a who cares release. And better the Good Doctor steered clear of that mess.

Sm3 is on top of my list but thats only if tobey is there and it's a multiverse movie.

I am up for all of this.

Why?

W T F else are you gonna watch in it?s place?

Another stale tough guy movie?

Another spy?s in supercars film?

Another terrible Non Disney Animated film?

Another horrible comedy?

Another bland sequel no one wants or needs?

Right now, this is the best entertainment available. Disney and the MCU have a incredible track record of very enjoyable POPCORN entertainment over the past decade. It?s literally the best run of content from the same universe ever...............

And we complain about it?

You ungrateful bastards. ;)

Once the MCU is gone, you will lament its absence.

And BTW , the golden age of cinema , the 1980?s will never come again. Independent director led films are a thing of the past.

The MCU is far far far from the best entertainment available right now. Two huge flops. Best entertainment right now is Invincible.

A superhero show tho. A damn good one. The hero movie boom that started in the early 2000s will never die it seems. Pop culture is at an all time high. But that begs the question. Will we ever make room for anything new and something that isn't from decades ago? Will nostalgia always be the selling point? I think so.

Same here. All four F4 and Doom. Dr. Strange is my guy and I think it will be an interesting movie. Not sure why little girl American Chavez has to be in it. Spiderman3 might lead into Strange, so I might be interested in it.
We'll have to wait and see. I have no real faith in the director considering he's the Spider-Boy one, but I'm nurturing a modicum of hope. I just want some space exploration with superpowers... Doom should honestly get his own movies.

Can already tell you it will be an all non-white cast with a woke agenda. Throw in a trans character too and Black-Hispanic mix Reed giving a lecture about the 85 different genders.
They might pretend to be "woke", and pay lip service to Twitter, but there's no chance in Hell they'll market a global blockbuster that has an IR pairing, a gay brother and a rockman. If they do a black Reed they'll do an all-black F4, and we know they won't do that. They'll cast screen accurate, maybe a light-skin Latino Reed and then build up Blue Marvel as the black F4.

I saw that earlier. Not surprised.

Other movies or shows? Older stuff you haven't checked out yet? Other new stuff that will come out? I'm more excited for the new Guy Ritchie/Statham flick than any MCU product ATM, for example. At least I know what I'm getting with Ritchie/Statham. And there's new shows and movies coming out everyday. Some good, some great, others schlock. One of the Coens is making that new Macbeth movie. Succession is getting a third season. Chastain & Isaac are doing a remake of "Scenes From A Marriage". It's not like there's a shortage of entertainment if you broaden it to other mediums, too. Anime, videogames, books, what have you. I don't get why the MCU is supposed to be the only source of entertainment, or something unique.

I want the F4 in their blue and white costumes.

Doom better wear a mini skirt :lol
They'll cycle the suits for toy sales and we know it.

And it's a tunic, you phillistine!

That's why I completely and utterly lost all interest in these movies after the first Iron Man. They all look and sound exactly the same, have the same story beats, the same color grading, the same fight choreography. The same weird basketball texture rubber outfits in every movie. They're so bland. They all just blur into another. It's like watching a marathon of "Murder She Wrote." Just rote formulaic repetition. There's no style or flair to any of it.

When you watch a Tarantino movie, you KNOW it's a Tarantino movie. Same with Scorsese. And Michael Mann. And even the much-despised Zak Snyder, at least his movies look uniquely HIS.

Of course I like Iron Man and Captain America and Wolverine....I devoured the comics for decades. I'd probably have literally shat myself if I saw a live action Cable and Deadpool in 1991. By the time it came out I was around 40, which was far too late for me to care. If I wanted a hit of nostalgia, I'd just go back and look at the Rob Liefeld drawings that made me love those characters in the first place.

It was really cool seeing a lot of these characters in live action, but it wore off pretty quick as the movies devolved into nothing but repetitive glossy CGI fights against CGI robots and aliens and really fake looking action sequences that aren't even fun cause there's not even a shred of believability to them. (Like when Neo fought the hundreds of Smiths in the Matrix 2 and it just looked like rubber puppets...that's all I see in the Marvel movies too.)

At least the first two dozen movies had characters most everyone loves, like Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Thor, Steve Rogers. These new movies are scraping the bottom of the barrel trash characters that have never been popular, have never been able to sustain any kind of real fanbase, and are just the moldy leftovers now that they've burned through all their A through C list characters.

I realize my grumpy old man arguments are just me pissing in the wind though and nothing will ever change. People LIKE crap. People LIKE predictability. People DON'T like being challenged.

I will say this though. My favorite scene of the entire Infinity Saga or whatever it's called was certainly not in Endgame or any of those giant "epic" battles. My favorite scene is in Age of Ultron where the Avengers are all kicking back and hanging out at a party, drinking and having fun. That scene was so much fun for me. That was the only scene where these characters truly felt like human beings and not cartoons. I'd watch an entire movie of Stark and Thor doing shots and arguing about whose girlfriend is hotter.

I think Marvel are changing it up though for Phase 4. It's just that they're changing things up in a way that some people don't like. I agree about the costumes though. Meinerding and Park need to get some new blood in that art department, everything's so derivative.

WandaVision and FWS were both frustrating but I haven't written the MCU off just yet. There's a few more things they need to **** up :lol

Hate Marvel movies all you want but you have to admit Marvel sure knows how to cut a trailer.

Sure, I'll give you that. They know how to show you just enough little glimpses to make it not look like complete trash.

But it's also telling that the only way they could get people really excited for their D-level throwaway crap was to use sad music and Stan Lee's voice, and then show people enjoying what will never be topped as the climax of their series. Not a good sign when your first resort to market this stuff is to say "Memba Endgame? Memba Captain America? Sure, I memba! Memba Stan Lee??"

While I have no problem with walking away from the MCU especially because I have the very competent infinity saga in my possession but it is also because of that unprecedented 12 consecutive years of top shelf entertainment they gave me that allows me to not be so quick to dismiss the MCU just because 2 TV shows failed to stick their landings.

They earned my steady hand lol

It helps that i’m also a pretty thick skinned person who doesn’t get triggered so quickly on social issues something the far left AND lets face it also the far right are guilty of.

I just enjoy making fun of the triggered left more lol

Either way i’ll be patient and continue to enjoy the build up to at least the X-Men and F4 and at best i’ll end up with another great arc comprised of a few phases and at worst I got my mostly pre woke infinity saga to enjoy.

Don’t be salty because Terminator franchise never completed phase 1 with that future war MIA lol

Feige might've went woke quote there so when F4 comes around and they are all white, he can point to all these other properties and go see? He might be building up the points now in Phase Snore and naturally there would be a let down after the Epic 10 yr run. Multiverse to reset the table and boom, F4/X-Men/Blade(vampires).

Your quote of me drew my attention to a missing word. Duly edited.

Anyway, yeah they still have enough benefit of the doubt with me - Steve and Tony will be missed but at least we still have Thor and Hulk...for now and kinda.

As for Terminator, you forget - I no longer desire a future war movie since, in all probability, it would contradict the 3 timeline theory that ajp and I discussed at such length in the Terminator thread.

Oh yes that’s right I forgot that the applied qualitative global physics research and development on theoretical quantum exploratory of complex structural tenet displacement algorithms had posted yours and ajp version of the Terminator franchise you were hoping to see my bad lol
