Yes, this was some great stuff. A guy half my age is articulating all the reasons I've completely fallen out of love with comic books, movies, and even the latest TV shows. It's all so repetitive and derivative and DUMB. The movies get louder and dumber every year. The fake nouveau geeks have taken over the asylum. They don't care that we loved this stuff for decades, and they don't bother to read the books....but they have a Funko Pop figure and a t-shirt so obviously they're "big fans."

I couldn't agree more that we're heading towards becoming a race of gelatinous blobs....if not physically, then certainly mentally. Thanks to social media addiction, the world's gonna look like a mix of Idiocracy and the fat little butterballs from Wall-E.

My guesses:

May 1, 2020 - The Eternals

November 6, 2020 - Black Widow

February 12, 2021 - Black Panther 2

May 7, 2021 - GOTG Vol. 3

November 5, 2021 - Doctor Strange 2

February 18, 2022 - Shang-Chi

May 6, 2022 - Captain Marvel 2

July 29, 2022 - Ant-Man 3

I am interested in Doctor Strange 2 though. I just wish it were anyone else directing it since his standalone movie was so boring and drab, but his cameos in Ragnarok, Infinity War, and Endgame are actually really cool.

:lol

Great sign-off...

I was right. You're too ambitious. :)
More like "too much of a daydreaming slacker", but thanks for putting it in better terms. :lol

Awesome posts darthkostis, don't be a stranger! :duff
I guess since I've stopped buying collectibles, I've tried to limit my time on such places, from fear that I'll be tempted back again to this world.

While that's 95% true, I'd say there are a few films or shows out there worth a watch. They're 5 or so per year, but they do exist. Granted, they get fewer by the day, but still. Strange to imagine that there was a time Mad Men, Black Sails, Boardwalk Empire, Hannibal, Leftovers, Fargo and House Of Cards were on at the same time...

Personally, I've come to hate the "ultra geeks" more than the "fake geeks". The guy who watches the latest MCU flick with his gf and friends, then they all go to a bar, is doing nothing wrong. They like the flicks for what they are, and that's it. But the person who's made these flicks their whole identity and life, is disgusting. The ones that spend all their time on Tumblr spreading headcanons. The manchildren going on and on how this or that movie about guys in tights touched them, or changed their lives or whatever. There's a point where it goes from an interest and a collection to an unhealthy obsession.

But still, I'd be lying if I said I'm not even a little bit bitter about this. We used to read all that stuff, spend time and money on them. I never went through any ridicule or whatnot, but still, it was a fringe hobby that nobody cared for. And then you suddenly see hordes of people ging on and on about how Iron Man/Captain America/Bane/etc is their favorite character, yet they cannot name a single arc, and look at you funny when you bring it up. Like I said, the folks who have a fun time watching the flicks don't bother me. The supposed know-it-alls though do. I guess it's just a reaction to outsiders being forced into something that was "ours". And truth be told, this did ruin it all, so I don't think there's anything wrong with feeling a bit "betrayed". It eventually happens to everything when casuals enter the scene.

Oh, make no mistake. The "union" is coming, for race, brain, creed and soul. It's why I said this is a whole new playing field. Back in the day, Empires collapsed because of their inner decadence, degeneracy and inabillity to govern all their lands. Now, with all these wonderful technologies, it's all too easy. The plan is hard at work, and it's easy to succeed, considering the way it functions. But I think they pushed too much. They became too confident. Too cocky. And now there is a slim chance of salvation. We'll see if the people take it, or if they give in.

I'm a pessimist. I think we're screwed.

Well, I'd say it depends on your PO-

Yeah, those are boys. And that's a, try and guess... Netflix Show! And it's not even the tip of the iceberg...
It's still the 20s. Things will start looking better in the 30s, right?

BP2 is basically the only movie I'm excited about on that list, if true. I have a very specific idea in mind on what the BW movie should feel like so I'll just end up being disappointed when it isn't. DS2 I'm hopeful will be pretty good. We'll see. I'm honestly now just biding time until we see proper x-men.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to good ole Spidey in the MCU going forward into Phase 4. Far From Home is the final movie in the 5 picture deal (CW, IW, EG & 2 Spidey movies) Disney/Marvel made with Sony.

Sony may want Petey back in their universe since Venom did so well. Why No One should've supported the Venom movie, it being Good or Bad. We shall see what happens.. :dunno

I'm only looking forward to GOTG v3 (especially if Thor returns a part of the group), and maybe Doc Strange 2 & Ant-Man 3. I have no real excitement until they announce the eventual FF movie. I really can't seem to get excited for the X-Men at all because I know it will be riddled with PC characters, especially if they start from the beginning with the characters being teens. It won't be the X-Men I want, but likely still better than Fox's mess.

If Marvel releases a movie about The Eternals do you think they will have Thanos play a significant role in the storyline? And if so, do you think another Hot Toys figure will result?

I think it's a safe bet one of the Feb releases is BP2. They typically save what they think would be the bigger movie for the summer so I wonder what the July one is.

Can't wait for Shang Chi and Eternals. I hope they announce the casts officially, and have props and concept art for them there tomorrow night.

You'd think they would have another Avengers for each Phase. Perhaps Captain Marvel is out farther than what we think? Will there be an Ant-Man 3?
