I doubt it'd be $300.. :lol Some of their regular sized figures aren't near there.

Like Rory said - the contrast in likeness, paint, quality, accessories etc to the SSC or Medi figures, would be vast.

You'd actually get a lifelike little analogue of the puppet - not the bight green super articulated, elongated head, SSC approximation, or the less poseable, turtle necked, smaller Medi. :exactly:

I really don't think the neck is that long. :lol. And I though the Medi (of all things) was oversized? I know he's bigger than the SSC version ....don't know which is more accurate.

Anyway, he came yesterday. I didn't have a chance to even open the shipping box it came in. Will post my thoughts later.

Ok, maybe a little hyperbole there.. :lol

I trhink the Medi looks good though, but I'm happy to wait it out for a better one than both the aforementioned.

I hear ya, but there are only certain things Ill play the waiting game with. Yoda isn't one of them. Mainly only due to this here Medicom version. I think he looks great after mods and repaint. Plus, I think it'll be years before we see another. And I wouldn't hold out for an HT Yoda at all at the pace they're going. :lol Who knows, they may never even do one.

At the rate HT is going with the SW line, we'll all be retired or not collecting anymore. Get the Sideshow or Medi and have fun with them.

Alright, I opened him up yesterday. I must say that I am surprised at how much I like him. I like him a lot. The robes are well made and not cheap feeling or looking( just a bot too clean, but not for long). Not only is the sculpt of the head better than the SSC version so are the hands. They look great and much more Yoda like. One thing did surprise me is the paint. This is probably the best Medicom paint I've seen. Not HT or modern day quality of course but pretty good, I think. In fact I'm not even positive this would need a full on re-paint rather than a more 'add to' approach. I think the color is close to what Yoda looked like in ESB. Don't get me wrong it could definitely benefit from some paint, mainly to bring out the finer details of the sculpt, especially around the mouth and forehead. If nothing else is to be painted than the yes most certainly need it. It's that typical flat paint look from figures of old. And he ahs not one but two doll dots in each eye. :lol As you know he's not very articulated but I don't think I will be needing much more than standing with a cane. Mine doesn't stand up to well on his own without the cane. So he genuinely does need it to stand! :lol Anyone else have this problem? All in all I think Medicom made a very nice SW piece. I'm really digging him and the fact that I bought in the price range that I wanted to spend makes it all the better. $53 is good for a collectible that you really like, even if he is half the size of my other dollies.

Vintij- In hand his neck really isn't long at all. I think it's quite accurate really. But I know what you're talking about though. The thing is in a lot of those pics posted people have Yoda craning his neck upwards as far as it can go and the loose skin sculpted under his chin make him look like he has a "turtle neck". :lol When his head it positioned normally/straight he looks like he should look. I'll post some pics later or tomorrow.

I have a brand new Medi Yoda I was considering selling...any takers? I am going to buy the Koto rio for my daughter instead. Never opened, still in box.

Anyone?

Cool man, glad you're pleased / happy with it. :)

Looking forward to your pics. :duff

About Medicom, there isn't much to say that hasn't been said before. They make ****ty brittle bodies( although I've heard they've gotten better in recent years on this end) that have weird anorexic type proportions, cheap looking clothes, underscaled ,and of course crappy paint apps. But they have had some pretty damn good sculpts after a repaint imo.

TDK Bats- Still considered to be the best after a widen and paint.
Henry Jones
Yoda
Mutt
Indiana Jones-KOTC
Daniel Craig from Cowboys and Aliens
Temuera Morrison- Jango Fett
Daniel Radcliffe- Harry Potter
Harrison Ford- Cowboys and Aliens
Bruce Lee

I know there is more, just can't think of any at the moment.

Now these range from decent to pretty damn good likenesses. So Medicom does have some talent working for them. It's beyond me why literally the rest of their product is treated the way it is.

A couple of those are EB UU figures (CB & A) - so they're not standard Medis anyway.

You also forgot the Endor Han solo - that's great too. :wink1:

I am looking at their Maul 2.0 that came in yesterday. I have owned the SS on two occassions and the Medi puts it too shame.

Really? Which ones?

You're right he is great, but I was purposely not including the UU figures since EB usually does the sculpts/paint? But yeah, I really like that Han figure, especially that modified hair version that someone did. :)

That's another one. I didn't include him because I was really focusing on the likeness aspect and while that Maul awesome and definitely better than SSC offering I'm not fully sold on the likeness. He is very cool though. I want to pick him up eventually and do all the mods jedijim did. His is the best I've seen.

Ah. I just looked them up you're right. I didn't know that.

Some pics. Not the best, I didn't feel like going all out this time.

Isn't it amazing how people can think the SSC version is closer to Yoda and the Medi is way off and others can think the exact opposite. Subjectivity. :lol

Seriously, I find myself wanting to like the SSC because of all the cool accessories, articulation and fun factor but....his face. :lol There is something cherubic about it. Something that just doesn't look like Yoda but you clearly know who it is supposed to be. I dunno...
