OK so I just opened up my Maul a few minutes ago and was totaly blown away. This peice is amazing the detail is great the cape is far superior to the SS version, the is wire going down the back which is something SS needs to look into doing with there hooded figures makes for great poseing options, and talk about hands galore....theres so many options its sick. I consider myself a SS collector over Medicom but in a side my side setting I gotta be honest the Medicom blows the SS version away JMO. I hope to have some pics in awhile(just gotta charge the camera battery) never before have I been so happy with a SW figure, Thank you Medicom and thank you SS for distributing this figure.....damn I totaly have just geeked out.....awe who cares this figs awesome. :chew

That Clone looks really cool! His gear reminds me somewhat of Neyo's or Bacara's.

Yes indeed they do. I hope they do Grevious and Dooku soon.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for either,Medicom seem intent on whoring the Clone molds for all they are worth and I think Maul & Wicket will be the last non Clones they release for quite some time. And even if more than just Clones get released I think Medicom are extremely unlikely to make Grievous as they've so far shown little desire to make anything that's anywhere near as complex in design as the General.
Dooku may be a better prospect but with a great custom being reasonably easy to make who wants to pay full price for something that would likely resemble Christopher Lee's stunt double as opposed to the man himself?

Ya, you can get decent clothes with the Hasbro, and a Medicom portrait would be no better than the Hasbro figure.

I love this damn figure!

We know! :D

Tonight guys, I'm at the office right now. Thankfully, only 3 and half hours til I'm done, and then it's on.

I have to say, out of the box, without any heavy modification or futzing, this figure is quite mediocre; take of the robe and it goes downhill. The anatomy of the RAH is hugely detrimental to the overall aesthetic of the figure in the shoulder and neck area. The tunic is made of some nice materials, but the quality of design and sewing or however you want to word it is pretty poor. The weird seam around the waist is very unsightly and unnecessary as the construction method on the Sideshow figure pulls off a nice aesthetic, and as i've mentioned before, the undershirt is pretty lackluster since they couldn't finish the stitching along the collar down further on the shirt.

With a fair ammount of work, I think I can get him to look pretty good, but out of the box he's not all that great. The best things this figure has going for it are the head and the outter robe, which other than the odd, silky material, is a very nice piece of 1/6 clothing, the wirework is fantastic and very useful. Skin texture is definitely there on the figure, however, it's quite subtle and only shows up under certain light conditions, a good effort, but next time they try it I think they need to exaggerate it just a bit so it shows more, like the proto. Also, the multitude of hands and the combination of gauntlets and hands instead of a single mold is also a great feature. The weapons are pretty average in quality.
