Definitely need some more pics of this guy. Only thing that stops me from puling the trigger is a possible HT version. (and about 240$)

I wouldn't let the possibility of a HT version stop you, I very much doubt they will go near another Harrison Ford sculpt in near future, the 240$ however is a real deterrent!
:lol

Yup. Haven't had a chance to photograph anything for a while, been traveling a lot with work.:(
Maybe at the w.end.

I picked this guy up and switched him over to a narrow shoulder TT with a slim neck and the rubber torso thing from the medicom figure.

Looks great :clap.

Which boots are they, they look pretty accurate?

I have a few but don't really like any of them.

Also what are people doing to get the neck peg to fit the head when transfering to a new body?

They are VTS Explorer boots painted gloss black. you have to cut off some straps to get them to that point. I took a Hot Toys neck peg and sanded it down to fit.

Yup same boots I used and yes you are dreamin of you think you can get a figure at 120. In my opinion of hot toys did this figure it would cost 240 but it would definitely come with more.

Thanks man, yeah I had already sanded down a HT peg. The new slim TT works a treat, although I still think his legs look a little spindly, i might pad out his crotch thigh area, or replace his pants.

I have to say the combination of this media set and some SS elements makes an almost HT quality Solo (except i prefer Enterbay sculpts to HT!).

Definitely agree that the hair is the weakest part of the Enterbay head, for both ESB and ROTJ, just a bit off overall.

The Mando one is something I'd be all over even a couple years ago he did a very nice job and it's an improvement over the original by far, but it just looks like one of the better Sideshow figures and for me it's time to phase those out and SW should be as up to snuff with the rest of my figures collectively but ever since HT put out Luke, anything that looks "sideshow" no longer has a place in my SW collection. So that leaves some mighty big holes.

Anything stock Sideshow I'm upgrading (or I already have upgraded) to be able to flawlessly hang next to Luke and Han.

The way I look at it is this, Hot Toys will never get to a lot of the characters I'd like in my collection at this slow as molasses rate they are going. As far as the non-human figures from SW, SS did a lot and I like a lot of them. I also only really want important OT and maybe the odd prequel figure in my 1/6 collection. As Cool as Bossk looks I don't need a tertiary character of that in 1/6. That's what my 3 3/4 collection is for. So I can have Bossk along with the Cantina bartender and Jabba's six ****ed dancer.

In addition to Luke and Han, these are the guys that I think are (and will be) good enough to hang with them...

- Darth Vader (Sideshow on a Kaustic Plastic body with a custom tunic and cape) I have no desire to lower any domes and the like, I like the head as is, looks like ESB to me which I prefer anyway.
- Boba Fett ( On a HT slim, the only body to go for Boba! Head was widened, chest armor reset. Maybe another bod or two in the future but I'm happy)
- Stormtroopers ( good as they are, I plan to upgrade to a HT slim body anyway as all sideshow bodies can be improved on)
- Emperor ( a future project for me, with a good repaint, some robe weathering and a new body I think he can be quite good)
- Yoda (Medicom is the only on that looks like him, I plan to repaint him, add real hear and weather the robes)

In order to round out a collection that I'd want that I think HT can fill in the gaps in the future I'd like to see...

Han (ESB, ANH)
Princess Leia (ANH or ESB)
Old Ben (ANH)
Anakin (ROTS)
Obi Wan (ROTS)
Lando (ESB)

And I'd like to see Sideshow or HT do

R2D2
c3P0
Chewbacca (any)

And truth be told I'd be happy with that SW collection, I don't need a lot more than those to feel like I have a complete collection.

Sorry for the crazy rant!

Lots of good points and great list. But you don't have to wait for HT to do an Old Ben. You can have a quality one now. Just give it to the Skimunster. :D

Yup Fiend I'm really happy With my Ben small painted it and I have him on a padded TrueType the quality is astounding.

The reason why I'd want HT to revisit it is due to the subtleties like head size skin texture etc. I love my Ben but he does not quite fit in.

Rory you should check a few pages back for my recipie for solo with a blitzway body. The sideshow jacket frames nkcest on tjis hody. You should see how i reworked my pockets also. but an FYI it's super simple to swap narrow TT waist down with slim TT waist up. It's a tactic I've used many a time. My Marty mcfly and Detectove Mills use that recipie.

Thanks Ray, just did!
I took an alternate route though in the meantime. I took the new T22 slim body and completely dremmeled the neck down so it didn't fatten the rubber neck/chest from the UU. Then as you suggested I took some bigger waist/legs from another HT TT and put them together. Finally I cut down the UU ankles to fit the TT perfectly. And dremelled the head barbell to fit the UU head. It looks awesome. And I haven't even started with the clothes yet. love your jacket, may do something similar, strip out the pockets and reshape them. :yess:
