I think i would be fine with this with no mods at all. I am not a mod guy, and i love medicom bodies. But again HT is going the DX route so............

So saying you HAVE to mod this is opinion only.

The new Tamashii 3PO & HT Bespin Luke are the current 1:6 SW benchmarks - & 3PO beats Luke as far as I'm concerned.

Except for the great old Marmit Imperials - & maybe SSC IG-88 & HH, everything else is lagging behind.

Tamashi 3P0 is pretty good... but I prefer it if my 1/6th figures can at the Very least take the same poses teh actor could.

Still, he gets a 9-10, but it's JUUUUUUST enough IMO to keep him outta Hot toys Luke status.

What poses is the Tama 3PO incapable of that the full size suit was?

I haven't come across anything except the "looking up" articulation that is lacking in terms of comparison to screen sources.

In terms of hips, the full size suit had rubber pants (and crumpled foil) in some scenes, so it's not really logical to expect a fig that 100% captures the likeness of the suit to be able to accomodate that cheat.

I think a set of hips that enabled him to sit would have been great, but it would have required an actual redesign of that area of the suit to something that is not screen accurate.

The actual suit used separate sitting pants . It would have been nice to see something like that attempted here. ESPECIALLY for something running close to 400$. you hit that dollar mark, nits like that become considerably less forgivable.

:lol:rotfl:lol C-3PO is shown to be sitting down in a couple of scenes, therefore I dock 10% off its overall score owing to the absence of this capability in the figure.

Hate to say it guys but he has a point, for the price the lack of mobility in the legs is a downfall, even still it's an incredible peice.

Call a cat a cat, both the Medicom Han and the bandai c3po are incredibly overpriced for what they are. Han should be between 150 and 200 a s 3po should be about 200...

No ones saying these items are not overpriced but its Star Wars.. I've pumped way more money into things I like far less than SW...

You have three options as far as I see it, wait for hot toys to put out a SW figure once every 1.5 years and be left with a bunch of holes in the collection when this whole thing ends, because it will... Or you will... That's just the way it goes, that's life...

Your second option is to buy what HT does, spend extra money upgrading the non humans from sideshow to make them passable, and spend extra money on things that shouldnt cost what they cost, but they do, and are offerings of key integral characters you need for your collection, like this Han and 3Po. And then be left with a more complete SW collection up to the calibre of what it should be.

Your last option is to stick purely with sideshow offerings, cartoony bobble head humans, bad paint jobs, but variety and availability. I mean look, they are trying but failing... The new Palawan obi wan? Their best human, about 20 steps behind hot toys still... You can't put your Luke next to that.

And that is a travesty. They are really only one two steps above Hasbro and 20 steps behind Hot Toys. I don't want to spend the rest of my life chasing after perfection when it's realistically and economically unattainable. I guess the only way to win is not to play. That is the reason why I have given up trying to get EVERYTHING and only get a select few must-haves and it had better knock my socks off to be worthy of MUST-HAVE.

If I wanted a statue with poseable arms, I'd have bought the PF.
Here we go.. :lol

The new 3PO figure is AMAZING.

The figure reflects Daniels in costume almost perfectly - not only sculpt wise, but also as far as his mobility on set. Sure it would've been nice for the hips to allow it to sit - of course the Landspeeder scenes come to mind, but it's not a deal breaker by ANY means. I personally don't plan on getting the 1:6 Landspeeder anyway, like many others that have bought this figure I'm sure. :)

There's some movement in the hips - front, back & out. The knees & ankles are articulated very nicely, & combined with all his other great POA, can be put in some excellent poses. Among other examples though, 3PO doesn't need to be super articulated anyway, unless you demand that from every figure you buy.

Expensive? Yeah.. it is - I won't disagree there. Like everything else though, wait long enough & you'll find it somewhere for cheaper.

And I almost did. Except that the PF 3PO has incorrect details all over it, and the head is more wrong than the 1/7 Medi 3PO.

Whatever it can and cannot "do", I bought the Tama 3PO because it's the first any scale 3PO replica that has gotten the sculpt 100% correct. All of him. And we were lucky enough to have it be in 1/6, not 1/4.

I can live with the oversized pistons because they aren't an error, they are the only way they could replicate exactly how the costume's pistons worked (pivot/slide/expand simultaneously.)

Oh... and back to ROTJ Han, which I am still contemplating BUYING...

I agree about the Tama Threepio. It's about as flawless sculpt-wise as you can get. I took a look at the PF and its proportions look all wacky. The arms look too long and the shoulders are too forward. The head sculpt seems off as well. There are a bunch of other things that are not quite right. And they overdid the weathering, IMO.

The Tama Threepio is astounding. It is a sight to behold. It's by far the most accurate 1:6 figure in my collection, including HT's Iron Man figures.

And yeah, I wouldn't mind having this Han. The face itself is pretty good. But I probably wouldn't drop any additional $ on it and leave it as is. I will definitely wait til I find it for around $100 like the UU Luke is now. And if that never happens, I'll be okay having passed it by.

Ok so here is mine. Swapped over to a narrow TT with a newer neck. It's the painted one with the skin texture. SS ANH Han belt and real leather boots. I also popped out the rubber neck insert. I plan to back fill and make it fit to the ht neck post.

Thank you my friends. Not the best pics but you can see how it can look. Much better in hand.

Medicom Jedi Luke head chopped down to accommodate the ht head. I plan on casting them as soon as I get some time away from work.
