Medicom Indy and Dr. Jones - the polite thread

Good paint job, but the sculpt sucks so much. It doesnt help.

Has anyone tried the Jones Sr on a tru type body or does it work ok as is ?

The multiple tweed layers on Jones Sr. make him look fine. A true type would bulk him up too much.

Also the head socket on Medis is way smaller than Hot Toys. You'd need to dremel.

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking about getting one and don't want to get it and then Sideshow introduce one I like better. But I don't want Sideshow to turn on the Indy line like they did the Lord of the rings.

Crap, my wife is going to kill me. I just BIN for a Henry Jones for $99. Was going to wait but for $30+ less than others I jumped on it.

I don't think it's all that bad, and it certainly has a better paint job than the SSC Indy. However, the SSC Indy has a better sculpt.

I like Indy's sculpt. It's no where near Trevor's, but it does look like Ford at least. The paint is very nice too.

I may form a different opinion when it arrives, but I've been impressed with the pics of Medicom's Indy since the pics first appeared on-line. I finally bit the bullet and ordered one last week. I've never been as happy with my Sideshow Indy as I thought I should be. Maybe having the Medi Indy will improve my opinion of SSC Indy. Maybe not. But hey, two less than perfect Indy's are still better than having none.

My Medicom Indy arrived today. I used some "points" to bring the price down to a more reasonable level.

This is my first Medicom figure, but probably won't be the last. I get what everyone says about the scale and the "slight" frame with this guy but I'm far more pleased with it than I was with my SSC Indy. Neither is perfect of course, and SSC certainly has many strong points (particularly $ value) but for me, this figure moves to the top of my 1/6th Indy list.

He's a very underrated fig... Especially from the profile view as that's where the sculpt really nailed it.

Did you do anything to customize the fig JB?... Padding for his ponch?

Yes I did give his gut a little padding...happens to us older guys as the years add up ....

Plus, I thought he looked too thin around the waist.

Awesome. I planned on doing the same thing (similar to what I did to the ANH Obi) and I'm glad to see that it does make him look better/more accurate.

i think kotcs indy looks pretty good. has anyone tried the extra sideshow indy hat on him? that with a sovereign studio jacket and possibly a body swap. that could be a killer indy!

oh and great job on the padding jedibear!
