People dont have to wait for SS's PPO, he can be had at other shops. Monstersinmotion.com has him for 150. SS isnt going to be cheaper.

Damn right! I went to Monstersinmotion and it's the same price as SS would have it, SS points be damned, I'm not gonna fight for this. Got it, now I can chill and wait:chew

I doubt SSC will put the item up all of a sudden without any warning, they didn't when they did PPO's for Boba or the Clonetrooper as I recall, I think it will probably be next week when the item actually goes up for preorder, most likely next friday.
I don't expect to see a PPO until after all the C4 exclusive PPO are done. So another 3 weeks.

I don't know isn't an SSC preorder usually the week after the preview page is put out there?
Yes but they have PPOs on the nest two Thurdays and Fridays. I would think they want to keep them seperate. They would either have to do the newletter here you go type sale or do it on a different day , but I still think it won't be until after the C4 stuff.

Maybe

I've already preordered Jango from BBTS so I don't really have to worry about the preorder thing at the moment.

If I'm around when it goes up then I'll try for it, but I never know what shift I'm gonna be on one week to the next.

An extra few dollars on the price of the figure doesn't matter to me if I know I'm gonna get one.

A post C4 PPOs sale date would make sense why no PPO was mentioned yet. Granted we're all fired up about it, or those of us who want to order through Sideshow anyway, but no sense getting us pumped for a PPO weeks away, I think at this point, they just wanted to let people know that they would have it, which is good, I was getting tired of constantly checking Star Wars Shop to see if they had it :)

Yeah SWS is a bit of a law unto themselves aren't they?

I don't have any problems with them, but if you're hoping to get an item, that is highly sought after by many people, from them, you have to stay on top of things and keep an eye on the site to get your order in as soon as they make an item available.

I've only ever ordered one item from there and that was the little Hasbro exclusive Shadow Trooper, it arrived in great condition and their customer service is pretty good.

The problem like you say, is the fact they put things up with no notice, when you look at how quickly some SW collectibles sell out, for example the Republic Commando maquette, that can be a real problem and lead to some collectors missing out.

At least with SSC you're in with a chance, you know when the preorder is and if you get your arse in front of the computer you've got as much chance as the next guy.

Actually, you just reminded me of the one thing I don't like about Star Wars Shop, and MR's store, but LOVE about Sideshow is notices in advance of when the item will be in stock and when you can roughly expect yours, which is good for me cuz sometimes funds are iffy at the time of shipping and in the grand scheme I have enough to cover, but it's nice to have a good idea of when you'll take the hit, with SWS, you get the shipping notice out of the blue which can be scary sometimes.

I got an email saying my stuff had been shipped and it arrived later that same day and I live in the UK:D

You get ship notices, but I mean like the "Item expected to arrive at our warehouse in 20-25 days" and "We are expecting the item to arrive in the next 3-5 days and will be processing", those notices are helpful if money becomes a problem at the time of arrival. I will say, at the least SWS does send out notices if items are delayed significantly, like the ROTJ VCD Boba Fett and the last fee GG bust releases which were rescheduled several times.

No I meant the email I got saying something had shipped and then arrived the same day was from SWS.

SSC always gives plenty of notice.

Sorry Jabba, i worded that badly, I was trying to imply that I wish SWS would give advance notices like Sideshow does, but the only thing you get is your ship notice and by then your funds have been taken away.

Yeah true enough.

I have to admit I like SSC's whole process from the preview, to preorder, to advanced ship notification..... it's a nice system, a real strength and one they should really stick with.

I think SSC can make the release of a figure seem more like an event than it otherwise would've been.

Which is part of why I'm holding out to order with them, the cost differences between them and others is minimal enough I'm willing to pay it to get a purchase process I'm cofortable with and trust with my CC info. It'll be good to know Jango will be coming within 20-25 days when he's about ready to ship :)

Is it just me or do the detractors of Medicom always bring up the samll scale issue? :huh Does it really matter in the end if your stormtrooper and Vader are a 1/2 inch shorter than some of your other figures? Their just plastic figures so who really cares. :flag

are Medicom figures too small or are SST figures to big? Stormtroopers look great next to BBI and Dragon figures, in a way, it is the SST figures that seem to look out of place.
