The weird thing is that Habro also made the same mistake. And the Kotobukiya droids are fine in relationship to each other, but much too small to put with 1/6 scale figures. It's really kind of odd why companies have so much trouble getting this right.

I would probably suggest that people just buy the Hasbro figures unless you're a droid fanatic like me. The Hasbro R2 is really pretty nice, and the C-3PO is reasonably good (chromed, at least). They're not very expensive at all, and serve well as stand-ins until Sideshow or whoever finally gets their act together and makes real versions.

These two aren't thrilling me. I'm happy with my Hasbro R2 and can wait some time for an SS 3PO. IF I find one cheap, I may pick up a Medi 3PO only, just to complete the set.

I don't know, from the pics neither of these give the illusion of being made of metal. I will wait and see what the final product looks like. But from these pics I am not sure it is worth RAH level money.

Totally agree on that. Heres a pic. 3po seems a little too bulky but overall isnt bad. R2 I like and does the trick for now.

Re: R2-D2 and C-3PO Real Action Heroes from Medicom

Funny how scale is such an issue. We know medicom figures aren't true sixth scale but look at the ssc life-size set. What up with that? r2 is barely waist high. But seeing as how it's been difficult for me to get the hasbro droids(being way up here in Canada) I may have to settle for the medi-droids.

I'm not sure where that picture of the Sideshow droids comes from, but it's just a photoshopped composite of the two. Whoever did it messed up their relative sizes, as you can see in this picture I borrowed of SirTristram's droids.

The Sideshow R2 may still look a little too short relative to C-3PO, but I think that's because it doesn't have any wheels under his feet, which would have boosted the height of the R2s used in the films by at least a couple of inches.

Re: R2-D2 and C-3PO Real Action Heroes from Medicom

Ok, I'll go ahead and run the risk of upsetting Medicom fans: C-3PO and R2-D2 look like acceptable, if somewhat cheap looking reproductions of the real thing. While a decent effort, I will hold out for 2027 when Sideshow or Hot Toys release the 'definitive' 1:6 versions

Some keep saying/feeling scale is not an issue. To guys like me, scale is a huge, huge issue. These are a guaranteed pass.

Re: R2-D2 and C-3PO Real Action Heroes from Medicom

Gonna pass on them, but only for one reason. they look very nice together, but if I'm paying THAT MUCH for a 1/6th R2, why does he not have Lights, and his tools?

Re: R2-D2 and C-3PO Real Action Heroes from Medicom

SS 1:1 scale Droids are awfull! and those Medicom droids are not looking good at all..maybe R2 looks ok but, a non chromed 3pO = no thanks.

I bought some cheapo vinyl kits from some far eastern seller on ebay. I've painted them up and weathered them and judging by these pics i've saved myself $$$$ coz these look a bit average imo. Very disappointing given Medicom's usual high standard for non human figures

So have these gone on sale anywhere? I'm just gonna stick with Hasbro until Sideshow makes some. But still curious what the price on these was.
