oh come on, he was merely practicing for "Mad Max 4......The Furious Road Warrior Within"..........:lecture

Murtaugh is going to be pissed.

Love movies he's starred in and directed, but other than that he's a hipocrate.

I watch Braveheart with the volume down and play the Wizard of Oz Soundtrack in the background. It's perfectly synchronized.

what do you guys think of Mel now.with his new racist rant and threatening to burn his ex girlfriends house down. personally l still like him. though it seems like he needs some anger management. so here is the question? do you think his career is over now or will he pull threw. lots of people are saying they cant work with him now.

Only some??

:D

I like his work, couldn't care less about the kind of person he is.

At what point do you start caring? What does he need to say or do before he crosses a line with you?
Does he have to say something like "PFs are for babies" before enough is enough???

:D

If I refused to watch movies based on the actors/directors personal views and beliefs I doubt I would be watching movies anymore. :lol So I really don't care what that believe nor do I try to follow the tabloids. I just don't give a damn.

:goodpost: :lecture :exactly:

Though I did love Donald Glover's (not Danny... Donald is the young black actor from "Community" and "Mystery Team") comment: "Mel Gibson is so wrong. We don't travel in packs... we travel in herds."

:lol

Mel Gibson is a fine turkey when pasted right with the amount of glass filling his teeth it is no wonder the gun split his melon with spider's eggs and tuna.

I'm not sure what all this means? Birds, glass teeth, weapons of mass destruction, melons, fish, and arachnids! How is it all relevant.

He does seem like a douche, but again I enjoy a lot of his movies and I can separate that from his personal life.

clearly making Passion has let him know Jesus already took it on the chin for his sins and he has nothing to worry about ... :monkey1

I was trying to find a news story to find out specifically what this was about, and ran across an interesting perspective:

"I mean, when do we as people find someone so morally repugnant that we must divorce ourselves from them completely as fans?"

My initial response to this kind of thing is similar to what others in this thread are saying--"what does that have to do with what they do as an actor, which is all I really care about?"

But the writer of that article discusses Chris Benoit, the pro wrestler who killed his wife, child, and himself. Before that event, Benoit was hands down my favorite wrestler (had been for over 10 years), and I was a pretty big wrestling fan. I haven't watched a single match of his since we found out what happened, and don't have any desire to do so. I figure the Gibson situation may be similar to some that he offends with his comments, and so I think there is a line of bad behavior that can be enough to turn almost anyone off to a given entertainer. That line just exists in different places for different folks.

Threatening to burn down someone's home is a just a different class of misconduct.

Arson with a high potential of manslaughter is way beyond the "anger management" stage in my book. This is also threatened violence by a wealthy, powerful man against an average woman who may have done nothing worse than make the mistake of dating a bad guy.

:goodpost::exactly: This. Just like us they have a professional and a personal life. Unfortunately for them their personal life usually ends up in the papers/tabloids/news when they do something bats#it crazy.

I used hang out with someone who refused to see movies depending on the actor and their beliefs/personality. Needless to say I always commented to him that he needs to get over that and just enjoy the movie.
