But the writer of that article discusses Chris Benoit, the pro wrestler who killed his wife, child, and himself. Before that event, Benoit was hands down my favorite wrestler (had been for over 10 years), and I was a pretty big wrestling fan. I haven't watched a single match of his since we found out what happened, and don't have any desire to do so. I figure the Gibson situation may be similar to some that he offends with his comments, and so I think there is a line of bad behavior that can be enough to turn almost anyone off to a given entertainer. That line just exists in different places for different folks.
I stopped watching Wrestling once too but mainly because I turned 16, lost interest and was having regular sex on Monday nights. Not a comment on your situation just trying to relate I liked Benoit too though.

Threatening to burn down someone's home is a just a different class of misconduct.
Arson with a high potential of manslaughter is way beyond the "anger management" stage in my book. This is also threatened violence by a wealthy, powerful man against an average woman who may have done nothing worse than make the mistake of dating a bad guy.

I have to say that during the time of Mel's "sugar tits" meltdown I was so burned out on all his bad press that I had no desire to see his then movie Apocalypto. I ended up seeing it about a year later and loved it.
Now with all this going on - I really have no desire to see him in anything or anything he does. Bleh - all this bad press just turns me off. He just comes across as a major douche and I personally would rather spend my money supporting someone who doesn't turn me off so much.

BTW, when Apocalypto finished shooting, I went to Catemaco and Nanciyaga on vacation, a couple of the locations where the movie was shot. And all the people I talked to about it, said that Gibson was the nicest guy... so, who knows...
Oh and I saw the movie 3 times in theaters, an amazing movie, though quite a bit inaccurate historically, but still, I like it a lot!!!

For example, having issues with someone because they like extra cheese on their pizza is not the same as having issues with someone who can't control their temper or appears to have racial issues. I mean, which one would you want invite to your dinner party with family and friends? At some point, your choice (or indifference) risks reflecting upon you too.

My sense is that at the end of the day, more than anything else, Cruise appears confused and relatively harmless. He is a bizarre bird who clearly worked with some lousy psychiatrists over the years. It's a shame because it seems like he was really effected in a negative way by those sessions (and whatever pharmaceuticals he may have been prescribed, perhaps wrongly).
