like Mel and his movies, now Cruise on the other hand could just fall off the face of the earth and i wouldn't even know he'd be gone.

what a ____in dip____.

If I refused to watch movies based on the actors/directors personal views and beliefs I doubt I would be watching movies anymore. :lol So I really don't care what that believe nor do I try to follow the tabloids. I just don't give a damn.

Not all personal views and beliefs have the same impact so I don't think it's something that can be generalized. For example, having issues with someone because they like extra cheese on their pizza is not the same as having issues with someone who can't control their temper or appears to have racial issues. I mean, which one would you want invite to your dinner party with family and friends? At some point, your choice (or indifference) risks reflecting upon you too.

:D

My sense is that at the end of the day, more than anything else, Cruise appears confused and relatively harmless. He is a bizarre bird who clearly worked with some lousy psychiatrists over the years. It's a shame because it seems like he was really effected in a negative way by those sessions (and whatever pharmaceuticals he may have been prescribed, perhaps wrongly).

There are two main types of therapeutic practitioners in this world. One, the emotionally detached type who tries to label and pigeon-hole you into a disagnostic profile like you're some rat in an experiement and then subjects you to some form of treatment, even medicinal, in which they alone decide if any progress has taken place. And two, those professionals who are sensitive to the impact their shared thoughts might have and, rather than assess you an often demoralizing diagnostic label, they'll instead help you identify issues you can choose to work on without making you feel like you're some retarded loss to the world. Which type do you think Cruise worked with?

Seems like in the older days, movie stars generally aged gracefully, and would get wiser and more admirable as they got older (Eastwood, Paul Newman, Jimmy Stewart, Max Von Sydow). Nowadays, they all seem to turn into nut-jobs of one kind or another (Gibson, Cruise, Eddie Murphy, Nick Nolte, Mickey Rourke).

Work in the mental health field, huh? Unfortunately, those mental health professionals who take a more medical-based hierarchal approach can be oblivious to the fact that they are doing so.

If I understand scientology correctly,Cruise is likely to beleive that psychiatrists screwed everyone over thousands or millions of years ago..or something wacky like that. So he either he had a bad expereince with one in the past or more likely, his particular mind_____* came from other expereinces.

As for Mel Gibson, it is clear that the rehab he underwent during his last fiasco didn't stick as it sounds like the difficulty he had in dealing with strong emotions is still apparent.

Cruise doesn't believe in shrinks or drugs, he only believes in Scientology. That's what messed him up.

Thing is, Cruise wasn't born a scientologist. I'm inclined to believe that he was drawn to it because it provided him with a belief system which made him feel more secure. It's really that simple. He is neither the first nor the last to find personal security and enlightenment in religion. I'm not making a judgment either way as there are religious people in my family as well, though not scientologists. If it helps him, who are we to judge, right? It's not like he knocks on our door trying to get us to convert or anything.

l guess that is why Nicole kidman left him because he was pressuring here to also be a scientologist.

I think the break up had more to do with them just about to have their 10th wedding anniversary, which meant Nicole would have some claim to his ongoing fortune until the end of time, even if they broke up. I seem to remember that being brought up as they got divorced at the 9 year 11 months and 3 week mark or something like that.

Mel will always be the man, the media can suck my balls ............ even if he is "red handed" guilty i'll still love the guy. Who cares what these people say or do.

Having said that I am now blind ........... I popped in Braveheart last night and the tv blew up. The glass blinded me. :( Not sure how I typed this reply either.
