Just came back from seeing this, the only thing that really stood out to me was boris, who was freaking awesome. Both previous MIB movies had fun villains though so that's no surprise.

Is this a post conversion 3d movie? Thanks!

From the director:
I had done a lot of testing of every 3D rig and also shot 2D and converted it to 3D. Based on my tests, I felt that the movie would look much better if it was shot in 2D and converted. So, nothing was shot in native 3D, which allowed me to have much more control over depth. It allowed me to use film instead of digital media, and the time jump was so much fun to work on because I got to control it all in post production.

Sounds like my kinda theater! :yess:

:exactly: The quieter the better. I hate noisy crowds in a film.

Unfortunately, when I went to see this movie yesterday someone unleashed some crazy hippie-commune/cult into the theatre. A whole family of weird people who, I think, never went to see a movie before.
They came in acting like they were at home, taking off their shoes, and lying their bare feet on the seats in front of them.
When J did the timejump, they all felt it necessary to shout and scream uncontrollably and try to grab the timedevice-thing :cuckoo: :panic: :lol

Not noisy, invloved. Those crowds are the best. The ones that are into the movie and want to be there, they clap, they cheer, they laugh. They are particularly great when you go see a re-release or special screening of an older movie, like when I went and saw Back to the Future last year, people cheer when George sacks Biff, Marty outruns the Lybians etc.

You rarely get a crowd like that for a new release, even a midnight showing, people don't seem very enthusiastic anymore. The last good one I had was the midnight showing of Predators, everyone cheering people on you get the sense they are real fans who are excted to be there, it's fun.

Watching the special re-releases of BTTF, Raiders and the Rocketeer were some of the best times I've had in a theater. Avengers was pretty awesome too, though, had a good crowd for that one.

While I like an enthusiastic audience, I don't like seeing re-releases with people.

I made the mistake of attending an Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi screening with fans at CV. It wasn't pleasant.

Ackbar! It's a trap! Slave Leia! Obnoxious clapping at weird moments. It was annoying.

A few summers ago, a theatre in Philly ran, Raiders, Ghostbusters, BttF, TMNT, Lebowski, Shining, Dr. Strangelove, Fear and Loathing, The Goonies, each week it was amazing, people were coming from 4-5 states away to see them. All sold out midnight showings. Maybe most funny, was Fear and Loathing, the reel broke during the adrenochrome scene where Duke is freaking out. The response of the theatre waiting for it to be repaired was to break out and start passing around beers and joints. :lol True Fear and Loathing fans.

:lol well theres your mistake. But there is something special when you see Ghostbusters for literally over your 100th time and a whole entire room full of people can still laugh at Rick Morranis at the party 20 years later.

Thank goodness I'm not a huge SW fan. That sounds horrible. :lol

I struggled enough recently with The Avengers in theaters. I had one guy down the row from me, hooting and hollering throughout the whole thing practically. At one point, his girlfriend or whoever it was had to ask him what Hulk has just said. (It was the 'puny god' line.) Then, he says, midway through the screaming, 'I have no idea.' :slap

Yeah, I wonder why....:lol I can understand being excited, but when it begins to hinder your own ability to understand dialogue, something is wrong.

My other favorite obnoxious (and clueless) 'fan' moment was at the end of Spider-Man 2 when Harry discovers Norman's 'Goblin lair' at the end of the movie.

Some random guy in the row behind me starts chatting with his friend: 'That's Venom. He's going to become Venom!!!!' It wasn't even in a joking manner. He was dead serious. Now, I can understand not knowing the source material or what have you, but to be so bold as to throw Venom's name out there....I'm sorry, but I can't justify that one, no matter how hard I try.

Who are these people???? :lol
