Regardless of all the negativity about the Figma Snake, I personally think it looks absolutely amazing. Sure it's not accurate to the mgs2 model, but it still looks way better than the McFarlane figure and the Medicom figure. Hope the final product comes out just as good as the one in the pictures.

It's all in good spirits man. :)

All the negativity and nitpicking stems from everyone's desire to see a faithfully sculpted MGS2 Snake. Granted, the McFarlane and 6" Medicom are indeed inferior to this Figma, but high end collectibles have came a long way since then. We totally have the artists and technology to make any character accurate to their source materials, but companies and designers tends to overlook that.

Medicom, for all the backlash they have received, at least strived to deliver MGS figures that looks like their in-game counterpart and so did PAKs' first attempt into the MGS line (Peace Walker).

My items from TGS arrived today :yess:

And the larger pamphlet

Decided not to get anything else as there is allready a lot of crap to collect that im not interested in!

i got my mgs4 promo art book yesterday, its pretty kewl. it sucks its in japanese but the art is pretty awesome.

What am I supposed to say when people come over and look at the Quiet figure on my shelf? "Oh, don't worry, you'll be ashamed if you knew the truth about her!"

Just be quiet about it.

Not sure if anybody is bothered by this point as its so late in Rex's life cycle, but i was talking to another guy who had a Rex and he couldnt remove the rail gun and thus has never had his Rex in MGS 4 mode before. So i took a few quick videos for him. They are only short, but id drop them here anyway as i think like, 5 of us here have a Rex

Also, just removed the battery pack for the rail gun to have a look out of curiosity, and theres some brown gunk, kinda wet. And i dabbed a bit on my tongue. Battery acid? Ive not had any batteries in the rail gun for a year. And ive only had batteries in twice, both times just to test the rail gun worked then took them back out. So ive stuffed some toilet roll in to where the batteries would be and put the cover back on as it was a little bit gunky. Glad i opened it up and looked incase more seaped out and actually started falling on to Rex, or whatever causing damage. It was contained when i caught it. Not tried any batteries yet as its drying. Im about to check in the head now too. Just a heads up for people.

Man you have by far got the best out of REX
Im looking forward to having him and Ray in actual battle poses. not just screaming at each other, physical!

Took hatch off of Rex's head battery compartment, bit of white powder and brown burn. Cleaned out a bit. You dudes should have a check of yours just out of caution and maybe stop something bad from developing. This **** will leak and ruin your Rex unless you take precautions, stuff the battery compartments with paper and never use them again if you want Rex for the long run.

I might actually take the batteries out now that you mention it. I want to display it standing, but I don't have the balls to. Unless I can rig some kinda stand for it, I just don't trust it.

I did manage to get the Rail Gun off mine, I just don't think I want to risk putting it back on and then I can never get it back off without snapping the hooks.

You really should, i feel like i had Rex in for a routine checkup and found cancer. Ive had to literally dab off acid from his insides which would of leaked down him at certain areas. There was actually a bit of acid trying to escape the head hatch

Not worth it to keep them in there considering %99.999999 of the time it's off, and not worth ruining a $500 collectible.
