Why are some of you guys placing REX and RAY so close to your ceilings, though? :lol I'd think having them so high up obscures the view, and practically defeats the purpose of displaying such detailed figures when you can't see them properly. It reminds me of the pics in the DC threads from folks who have their Tumblers on top of their detolfs.

I can understand if space is a problem, because REX and RAY are massive. But, having them (or any large collectible) on top of a detolf doesn't really seem like an optimal display position.

RAY's tracking finally updated, I get it Wednesday :yess:

:fireworks

I should be getting my tracking number on Monday. It usually takes a week to reach NYC, too. Good thing this wasn't delayed like REX.

I somewhat agree Solidus, but as you said they take up lots of room. Imo Looking upwards and seeing these menacing Metal Gears staring down at you helps give the illusion that they're giant robotic death machines.

agreed and i like them up there anyway. i can see all the details because im over 6 feet. my friends who actually enjoy looking at my stuff have been able to see rex just fine up there. ray is going to look insane up there, i have an idea on what i will do with his base with one of those carbon platforms i made a while back, if you guys remember them in my corner.

Oh okay, I can get that :duff. Personally I like displaying things a little lower, so can easily access them and change poses. I don't even have room for displaying REX and RAY and the moment, though :slap. I'll definitely have to look into some custom platforms later on.

When is Gray Fox coming out?

Eeeeewwwww! :horror

my private warehouse is going to expire.

How so? Didn't you pay the rent? Erm... what goes on in there?

Of course they are, imagine if they didn't!

$300 upfront on pre-order day most likely, they'd shoot themselves in the foot if they gave you the finger

Yeah I should be able to. It doesn't look all that complex. I asked them only for the joint because I don't want to screw with shipping back and forth of the whole thing.

Alright then. It ran me about $80 to mail REX back in a smaller box, and as I said it came back missing ****.

Yeah, tacking another ~$100 onto my already $500 toy is not something I want to do. I'll probably still make a mold out of the part just in case it happens again. I think the lower legs are way too hard to move and could easily see it happening again.

Makes me afraid for when I get it Wednesday. Although I never planned on posing it much.

3 things that disappointed me on RAY:

- RAY is FULL of screw holes, in the legs and arms, that is pathetic, truly.
- RAY does not stretch its legs the way it should to perform swimming stance.
- RAY's head piece does not move so well to the sides, hard to make dynamic poses.

It's head can actually turn left and right? That's more than they gave REX :lol

And the visible screw holes is retarded, REX has the same crap.

-Arms cannot extend upwards above his head (at least I can't get them up higher without fear of breaking them)
-Jaw and **** pit mechanism is pretty crappy honestly. The cockpit pops open too easily and the the jaws don't always pop open properly (if at all).
-no led for the water cutter (still don't know how they didn't do this one)

I think the head moves side to side just fine, but I think it need more up and down movement. He's often staring at the floor in most poses. Ray is depressed about something.

Screw holes don't actually bother me. Most of them are on the inside faces of the figure, and I need access to them to fix my Ray's leg anyway.

As for posing him, I've found it's easier to lay him on his back and just rotate everything (including the stand) around that. Holding up 20 lbs of plastic while trying to rotate with push buttons gets pretty tiring after a bit. The stand's arm is actually pretty nice, but I find the base to be a bit flimsy. I would have rather had a nice thick solid piece than the thin plastic base. It just seems like it will snap because it's got an air pocket between it and the ground.

I also see no need for the feet to be rubber socks. It doesn't do much for me, and you can't move the feet any without it scrunching up and looking all stupid.

Also, the manual included with him is absolute crap. It's like they forgot they could use more than 3 words per page. It makes it hard to know exactly what the limits are for the figure, and the pictures are obscured by their obsession with putting ray on a black background.

Overall I'm okay with the figure, but it's got some things I don't like for such a premium toy. The only remarkable things about it are its size and paint job (which is especially good).

Posted pics of head movement, and RAY with arms at maximum angle above head, not much, but I'm satisfied with it.
Tried to make the stance of defense on the fourth pic, but as I said earlier, the head movement doesn't allow dynamic poses to be performed.
