I started collecting MGS toys at the beginning of 2013. I've spent close to $7000 since then on MGS crap alone. Now that I've caught up with a lot of it, I've wound down a lot on my MGS buying.

Im about to start collecting my all time favorite characters in 1/6 so ill feel the pain soon, my friend. Im getting snake plissken, atlas/p-body, p1 predator, 1 alien, robocop, a jason, and a few others i forgot but that should do for now. I HATE super heroes so at least i wont have to deal with that garbage.

I just want a ******* decent Solid Snake fig.
Good Smile shall appease, hopefully.

I've spent at least $500 in the past year alone. Most of that is due to me paying scalper prices for Solid Snake. It's totally going to increase another few hundred soon, with White Raiden, Cyborg Ninja if I can find him, HT Big Boss and Nendoriod Solid Snake :horror:

So I decided to stick that black epoxy joint I made into ray for the hell of it to see how it would come out. Even with the soft, rubbery stuff, it's not bad. Also, ray fits on top of a detolf.

Honest to god Snake, strip down Rex's armor and then experiment with it standing, once you get it standing youl know what you need to do, what angle you should have the hips, waist ect. Rex becomes a whole new collectable once you get him on his feet. He looks like a whole new collectible. And you dont need to worry about it randomly falling, once you rotate the leg joints so they structurally are horizontal and lean the weight against something (aka like i use a wall as a prop) youd literally need to change the laws of physics for it to fall. I have a 80kg labrador, an uneven floor, and my Rex is stood 6ft up on a glass shelf and hes never moved.

You can do it!

I remember your wall trick, the problem is where I display it is on my dresser and it doesn't have a stable section to brace upon. Although, I have to switch where REX is on my dresser tomorrow to compensate for RAY and I might be able to do the standing position. I might try it this week.

Nice! Im glad ray fits on a detolf with the base! Im going to crouch him more though, he looks too tall in that pic, but i understand what youre trying to achieve. Good work on the joint, nice to know if it breaks on mine ill be able to get a replacement going. Ill have mine early november now that im starting my new career on monday. Im just going to pay off ray and raiden quick. Im also finally going to get a white ps4 so i can finally play ground zeroes.

The Boss has another odd deal, on SSC. Use TREATDEAL to get 30% off, and you still get double rewards and free shipping. She comes to $135, good deal. I think TREATDEAL is 24 hours only however

Wow! About time, Jason. :clap

How did you get yours to pose like that?!

I cant seem to extend the arms on mine that high and the legs dont seem to widen on mine.
Im just afraid i'll break it if i try

I had a lot of trouble working out how to articulate the thighs but finally seemed to figure it out,
On page 7 of the instructions in picture 3 ignore the curves in the arrows you basically have to pull the leg strait out away from the pelvis.
You'll feel it's actually on a spring or something while your pulling it out you can hold in the button and angle the thigh. (It's scary as hell, I hope I've explained it well enough just be patient and careful)

Thanks for that mate, I'll give it a shot now

I've racked my brain and scouted eBay for something i can use or modify to be a stand for Rex. I can't find anything suitable, anyone have any ideas?

I was thinking maybe 1/6 Y stands to hold up at the inner legs. I have a few, maybe I'll try it.
