I highly doubt that anyone will be displaying REX with the box (Bambaland or retail). The large size just makes it too impractical to do that. The poster on the other hand, may make a nice display accessory.

i will just have to console myself saying that, i usually am very picky about hot toys boxes as they are a work of art themselves, so is sideshows , but no way they will reach me without getting banged up or dented, wish i lived somehwere where i could just walk into a shop and buy them

I have the ex on order :monkey2
my ambush box was raped by the customs

i guess some of u might know how it feels when u open the box with all the excitement on receiving it and the first thing is u notice is the box like this

Omg, I would have to start punching holes in the wall after being welcomed to that :monkey4

Yeah, I know what you mean. I like my boxes in mint condition too - after all, figures aren't cheap and it's nice to know that everything is in perfect condition. But, personally, all of my boxes are flattened and stored away in a closet. The Hot Toys boxes are too huge to display - and it's even more so with REX.

One of my main issues with damaged or opened boxes, is that it puts into question the condition of the figure. Sideshow usually sends a notice along with their shipments, to contact their CS for an exchange if your box arrives damaged.

The shops around my area (Manhattan), sell figures with boxes that look as if they've been through a war and raped. Buying online is a good alternative, despite all of the troubles - at least you can have your figures shipped directly from the manufacturer, or from a distributor.

well, i do , but they dont do anything about it for me, i usually get my exclusive HT from sideshow and ask for a packout which they dont normally do for Hot toys. Last month my HT IRON Man MArk 1 ex shipped, it had slipped my mind that an HT was being shipped from SS as a few other statues were all being shipped at the same time,
My jaw just dropped open as i saw the condition of the HT brown box at the local Fedex when i went to pick it up, cursed myself for forgetting to ask for a pack out,
i was hopeful SS would send a replacement box but they refused, had quite a few damaged statues from sideshow too at the same time , right now trying to get a replacement for those as well

already one set of replacement arrived but the Dutch ex head and the predator right hand were damaged again , and they send me the wrong Dutch replacement hand,

Oh man... don't get me started with Sideshow and their shi**y default shipping :slap. I've had my experiences, before they had the pack out option available. No idea why they're so careless with international orders. Sorry about your experiences man... my God :monkey4

I can't tell you how valued I feel as a customer when I drop $500 on a piece 8 months in advance only to find out that an exclusive edition exists a month before release.

When I found out about this piece I scoured 3As site and dug around bambaland and didnt even see a listing for Rex on either website so I went with a vendor on ebay and now I feel like its almost a waste.

the ex edition will probably show up in ebay after release, but for a marked up price , some retailers do carry the Ambush exclusive even BBTS

Problem is that I've already dropped the money. If I had an option to upgrade for more money I'd do it but its not worth it to just buy a whole other one.

Could you link me to this BBTS listing when you get the chance? Like I said, I couldnt find it on their site and I still haven't even seen a pic of this Ex Snake figure

Sadly, ThreeA had been pretty hushed with the Snake figure. Since it's almost time for shipping, I doubt that they'll post any official pics of it. We'll probably have to wait for some in hand pics when people finally start receiving their orders.

Also, BBTS means Big Bad Toy Store. Their site is: www.bigbadtoystore.com

As a word of caution, they tend to be extremely expensive with exclusives. Not sure if they'll have the Bambaland ver REX though.

Thanks a lot

edit: Did people need to be members of Bambaland or 3A to have access to the exclusive edition? I literally hadn't heard anything about this until the last month.

in order to order the exclusive u need to register at Bambaland, they have the exclusive for a short 24hour period or till a certain no of pre orders are met,
i get updates from the 3avox page on facebook,
also i think they have changed the distributor and the exclusives will be carried by a new store by 3a themselves, cant confirm this as of now, but someone whos familiar with 3a could tell u more

I dont see what the big deal is. The snake pilot is only going to be like 1.5" tall.:panic:
I bought a 1/48 scale helicopter model for $10.00. I got 4 pilots now...:monkey3
