solidus & raiden are considered deluxe figures that's why they're so expensive. look at Meryl, you can get her for 50 to 60 dollars. I don't know what you're talking about. Bbts has solidus for under 100 bucks. Sounds about right to me. Hes twice the size and has double the accessories. Raiden has triple. Im sure theyll all list for 50-100 depending on those 2 criteria. Solidus is the first expensive one. We havent seen anything else so rising prices conversations are a lil premature. I do agree with hot toys needing to move their asses on more products tho.

cloakcloset on ebay is selling a complete unopened set of mgs1 figures for $130 plus calculated shipping. thats all 11. sick deal just tellin ya. youre welcome. :impatient:

Ah, I kept seeing earlier prices from BBTS and Ebay for over 150 for both Raiden and Solidus. I figured at those price ranges you could just buy a HT figure (if this was 2 years ago :p)

those are estimated prices before retail. also people on ebay in asia are lame with their prices. theres a seller who really thinks someone is going to pay $258 for solidus.

Looks like hes updated with new pictures.
look at the detail when you take it apart

This might have been answered already but what kind of batteries does REX use for the lights?

ha, I saw those prices before I posted, some were out of control!

I often want to get into Play Arts & D-Arts but I feel that 1/6 itself has me spread enough with all the various Licenses.

However I may or may not bite the bullet one day with Snake, Fox, and Solidus :X

Redford-films on ebay has ninja for 76 dollars Free Shipping theyre in California and they have 7 of them

You might not have a chance later since these are already becoming hard to find! Grab em while you can!

If I do jump in, I'd buy just Snake and Ninja, cheapest I've seen for the pair is 200. Ugh . . . .

However I'm hoping the Hot Toys figures will quell my need for these along with the ThreeA rex.

I just think the Play Arts guys look a bit too much like action figures, which is not a bad thing, just something I don't want to start collecting again.

If anyone is interested in both Solid Snake and Ninja, my local comic shop had both - I believe I could get them both for around $150 or so delivered to you for the pair - no guarantee if they still have them, but FYI for anyone still looking...

Why are people panicing, and paying "scalpers" prices for Gray Fox and Solid Snake? These figures are simply out of stock - they'll be back in retail when Square produces more. The same exact thing happened to the Sneaking Suit Big Boss figure from 2010 - it was out of stock for several months but then came back.

and all you gotta do is ask - I saw 2 Solid Snake figs and 1 Ninja last week for $60 each at my local comic shop - they are still around even now...

Yeah...been looking for that still, know of any places still selling?

Not to diminish the enthusiasm in this thread, but does anyone know if the missile fins at the top of the back pack are supposed to flip open, or detach completely from REX?

It seems to be completely removable in the ThreeA REX figure (see the two bottom left photos):

But, it flips open in the Kotobukiya model kit:

solidus, in the review near the bottom where it shows the top pics of rex theres little figernail pick spots on the outer edge of the figure. the koto ones flip from the middle out. the backpack picture(P.4) shows them completely removed.
